Did you know?
Brother Where Art Thou? Peyton Manning has approximately 100 more of the following than his brother Eli in the same number of games (14)
- Yards per game: Peyton 343.6, Eli 243.6
- Passing first downs: Peyton 253, Eli 154
- Pass attempts: Peyton 580, Eli 485
Just the Bear Facts - Josh McCown has 13 touchdown passes in five starts (2.6/gm), while Jay Cutler has 16 touchdown passes in nine starts (1.8/gm). By the way, McCown has a 109.8 QB rating, Cutler's is 89.8. McCown also has a QBR of 85.72, the highest among all quarterbacks who started at least five games.
Gotta Be Garbage Yards? - Of the Top 7 quarterbacks in passing yards this year, only three have a record above .500 (Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady)
Is 400 the new 300? - Eli Manning had three 400-yard games in 2011, Tony Romo did it in 2012, both Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers have achieved it this year, which is the first year ever where two quarterbacks had three games of 400 yards passing in a season. If Tom Brady, Nick Foles or Ben Roethlisberger have another 400 yard game this season, they will join Manning and Rivers with three 400-yard games. This would give the league three players with three 400+ yard games, which prior to this year, wasn't even accomplished by two quarterbacks.
Stump your buddy - Who is the only rookie quarterback to throw for 300+ yards this season? Answer - Geno Smith threw for 331 yards vs. BUF in week 3.
Stump your buddy Part II - Which quarterback since 1995 had the most 300+ yard passing games in his rookie year? Answer - Andrew Luck 2012 with six 300+ yard games.
And yet he only had 8 carries last week - in a dome, no less - LeSean McCoy had nine games of 100+ total yards (rushing and receiving). Seven of those games were 150+ yards.
The Smith Barney Award - "He Earned It" - Raiders RB Rashad Jennings has six games of 100+ total yards this year. He also has started only six game this season.
And yes, Ryan Mathews is on this list - Every running back with 1,000+ yards rushing this year (there's nine of them) also have at least 5 rushing touchdowns.
The Checkdown is alive and well - Six running backs have 50+ receptions this year with another 10 only nine receptions or less away.
