We are proud to bring you the return of the Footballguys.com Staff Confidence Pool Challenge. 20 Staff members will pick the winner of each NFL game, and rank each choice from most confident (16 points) to least (1 point). As a tie-breaker, the person who is closest to the total points scored on the last Monday Night game will be the winner. Winners will be announced from week to week and the best overall record will be crowned Confidence pool Champion. Picks and ranks are due on Wednesday, so any late-breaking news may not be reflected in the choices. Also please note that no point spread is taken into account with these picks – it is a straight up pick of which NFL team will win this week. See the other confidence pools for picks against the spread (ATS) or Survivor / Eliminator style.
RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK
For the second time this season, Andrew Garda found himself at the top of the weekly leaderboard after the Monday Night Football contest was over. Garda only missed three picks this week, and despite losing 10 by taking San Diego, he risked only 3 points on the Broncos and the 49ers. Miglio and Pasquio also had 10 correct picks this week, but they lost too many points with their three misses and finished behind Garda when the totals were final.

San Francisco losing to St. Louis hurt everyone this week, but not nearly as much as some of the bigger upsets from previous weeks. 175 points is a lot on a short week, but there were several teams that had over 200 confidence points, so guys like Garda that minimized their risk on the Niners were rewarded. The Broncos also lost a big game, but only had 94 points of total confidence. Heiser took some hard losses this week again, and finished in the bottom spot for the second week in a row. After finishing in the top spot last week, Tremblay also tumbled down the weekly board with heavy losses by Washington, Houston and Dallas.
OVERALL RANKINGS
The players may have changed, but Hindery maintained his three point overall lead. Buzzard climbed into second place though, with another strong week, pushing Larkin and Haseley down to third and fourth respectively.

HEAVY FAVORITES
Sunday afternoon and Monday night look to be the ‘easy’ games to pick this week. Denver is most confident choice, with 221 confidence points on them to beat Oakland. Seattle, Green Bay and Philadelphia were all picked to win their respective games by everyone in the contest. Pittsburgh makes it five teams that were all picked to win by everyone. The Bengals are expected to win tonight, and they have almost 150 points of confidence on them to beat the Browns. New Orleans, Dallas, Atlanta, Arizona and even Detroit were all heavily favored to win this week as well.
DUAL SUPPORT
Kansas City against Buffalo is the only game that was even remotely close in confidence points this week. The Chiefs are a clear favorite over the Bills, but KC only received 45 confidence points. The game only received 82 total points as well. Only three staffers picked Tampa Bay to win over Atlanta, and they only received a point from each. Atlanta was the clear winner from the staffer point of view, but the game only drew 54 total points of confidence, the lowest of any of this week’s contest.
ODDS AND ENDS
With so many common choices between everyone in the contest, managing risk will be the key to winning any office pool. To gain an advantage this week, your best bet is to risk as few points as possible on the closer contests that could go either way.
Only 13 games this weekend, so the top score will only be 91 points again this week.
Good luck this weekend!
