Week 13 was quite possibly the most successful week we've ever had with the FanDuel Bargain Buys. Last week's article featured the #1 quarterback (Ryan Fitzpatrick) and the #1 running back (Tre Mason). If that wasn't enough, we also touched on the #6 wide receiver (Kenny Stills). All we can really hope for in Week 14 is an encore. Once again we're using the projections of David Dodds for our Value Play selection and my personal research for the Bargain Buys. You clearly don't want to fill out a roster full of these guys, but once you've selected the studs you want, fill your roster with a couple of these players for profit.
Quarterback
Value Play
Brian Hoyer ($6700) vs. Cleveland- Despite getting yanked from his last game Hoyer will get the start against Indianapolis in a huge game for the Browns. His low price and stackability with Josh Gordon make him one of the most enticing bargains this week. It's hard to imagine the Browns stopping the Colts prolific offense which should lead to plenty of throwing from behind for Hoyer and Gordon.
FanDuel Bargain Buy
Shaun Hill ($6700) vs. Washington- Hill will be the less popular cheap play at quarterback, but that doesn't mean he couldn't be a great value. This Washington secondary is questionable at best and the Rams have been very good lately. Hill has reached 15 fantasy points in two of his last three starts, and should have no trouble putting up at least that much in Week 14. If you want to go cheap at quarterback in a GPP, Hill is definitely the contrarian play.
Running Back
Value Play
Daniel Herron ($6400) vs. Cleveland- Herron's price has skyrocketed the past few weeks, but I'm not sure you could make it high enough against this defense. In a game that his team should be playing from ahead Herron (5.4 YPC) gets a Browns defense that is one of the worst in the league against the run. Herron's ability also gives him a nice safe floor just in case he doesn't break off a long touchdown like he did last week.
FanDuel Bargain Buy
Bishop Sankey ($5400) vs. New York Giants- The Giants are showing all the signs of a team throwing in the towel after last week's loss to the Jaguars. They've given up 4.9 yards per carry this year and are extremely thin at linebacker right now. Sankey has struggled in his rookie year but he's talented enough to exploit a situation like this. Sankey has a low floor to go along with his low price, but his ceiling is very high this week.
Wide Receiver
Value Play
Kenny Stills ($6400) vs. Carolina- Stills is another player that has seen his price increase a lot, but I don't know how you can not play him with the targets he's getting. He has 15 targets over the last 2 weeks and has converted them into 13 catches for 260 yards and a score. With efficiency like that there's no reason for Drew Brees to go away from him and this Carolina secondary is not one to fear. Stills' targets make him a good cash game play and his upside qualifies him for your GPP lineups.
FanDuel Bargain Buy
Robert Woods ($5900) vs. Denver-Woods has been red hot the last couple of weeks and has developed an excellent rapport with Kyle Orton. In a game that figures to feature a lot of Orton passes Woods should be an excellent value. It helps that Sammy Watkins is far from healthy, but Orton seems to have a better connection with Woods right now anyway. If you're looking for a cheap part of this high scoring game, Woods is the guy you want.
Tight End
Value Play
Jordan Cameron ($4900) vs. Indianapolis- You'll have to monitor Cameron's health but if he's active he should be in your lineup. The Colts have been atrocious against tight ends at times this year and they'll be focusing a lot of energy on Josh Gordon. Cameron will likely be in very few lineups, which once again gives you a good chance at picking up points on the field. Once again, make sure you check the inactives if you're going to use Cameron.
FanDuel Bargain Buy
Vernon Davis ($4900) vs. Oakland- Davis is as much of a flyer as anything at this point but the Raiders are a good team to get going again. There's a chance he's just completely lost his ability to get open or catch the ball, but I think it's more likely he's in an extended cold streak. Like Cameron, very few people will have Davis in their lineup this week. You're rolling the dice if you do, but at least you're rolling the dice on talent.
Kicker
Shayne Graham ($4500) vs. Carolina- I love playing Graham in home games where he's favored against a bad defense. Who am I kidding? I love almost all kickers inside against bad defenses.
Defense
Jacksonville ($4800) vs. Houston- What do you think is more likely? The Jaguars repeating last weekend's phenomenal performance or Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing another 6 touchdowns? The answer is neither, but I do like the Jaguars chances of getting pressure on Fitzpatrick and forcing turnovers. They're still very reasonably priced with a very high ceiling.
