While Week 11 was not a pleasant one for the DraftKings Bargain Buys, we're still well above 60% for the year and I believe we have some really spectacular picks this week. There's more carry over from the FanDuel list than usual, and as a rule that's a good thing. Let's get right to Week 12. The Value Play at each position is based off of the projections of David Dodds, while the Bargain Buy is my personal recommendation. You don't want a roster full of these guys, but using 1-2 of them could help you win your GPP.
Quarterback
Value Play
Zach Mettenberger ($5300) vs. Philadelphia- I discussed Mettenberger plenty in the FanDuel article, but I'm not sure I emphasized just how big this week could be. The Eagles defense has been hot and cold this year, but when they're cold they're ice cold. They've given up the big play all year long, and that's something I love in my cheap plays; the chance to make value in a couple of plays.
Bargain Buy
Shaun Hill ($5100) vs. San Diego- Hill's day last week was limited because of the Rams inability to punch the ball in the end zone, but he was still a decent play. This week he gets a worse secondary in what will probably be a better game script. Hill is a safer play than Mettenberger in my opinion, without the sky high ceiling.
Running Back
Value Play
Isaiah Crowell ($3800) vs. Atlanta- Crowell is the second bargain listed both here and on FanDuel. His upside is undeniable, but there is a little bit of risk here with Terrance West in the mix. We believe that Crowell is the most talented runner, and we're betting on the Browns giving him a heavy workload. One added bonus with Crowell is that he should get the goal line action, which only adds to his odds of exceeding value.
Bargain Buy
Steven Jackson ($4000) vs. Cleveland- Jackson may seem like an odd call when you're looking for upside if you've completely ignored the Browns' run defense this year. They're getting gashed for nearly 5 yard per carry and the Falcons just lost Antone Smith. That should mean a few more carries for Jackson and an excellent opportunity for a touchdown.
Wide Receiver
Value Play
Allen Hurns ($3200) vs. Indianapolis- Hurns hasn't exactly been consistent, but when he's been good he's been really good. He has two games this year with more than 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Jaguars are going to be chucking the ball all over the field in the second half, assuming the Colts dominate this game as we all believe they will. Hurns is a volume play that has 7 or 8x value potential.
Bargain Buy
Davante Adams ($3100) vs. Minnesota- Adams is a more talented lottery ticket with less opportunity than Hurns. He's seen good usage in the red zone with team's focusing on Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Adams has topped 3x value in 4 of his last 5 contests, and this Vikings secondary isn't exactly one to fear.
Tight End
Value Play
Owen Daniels ($3100) vs. New Orleans- Daniels bombed the last time we recommended him, but he's still the best value on the board at tight end. The Saints defense has struggled recently and Daniels has a great opportunity to see more than one red zone target in this game. We expect the Saints to have no trouble passing against the Ravens, which could easily turn this into a shootout.
Bargain Buy
Delanie Walker ($3100) vs. Philadelphia- Walker has cleared concussion protocol and has an outstanding matchup against the Eagles this week. Walker has cooled off from his red hot start, but he still possesses big play ability against a defense that gives them up in bunches. He's one of the few tight ends that has 20 FP upside, in a game that should be high scoring.
Defense
New York Jets ($2800) vs. Buffalo- You couldn't write a much worse script for the Bills. Not only did they lose almost an entire week's worth of practice, they also lost a home game. I have a hard time seeing this offense produce at a high level after the week they've had. That should turn this into a defensive struggle, with the hopes that Kyle Orton turns back into a pumpkin.
