Last week was a mediocre week for the DraftKings Bargain Buys, but when a mediocre week includes Mike Glennon (QB14), Ronnie Hillman (RB11) and Andre Holmes (WR4) we'll take it. DraftKings has made some adjustments on pricing, so we're definitely going to have to get creative in Week 7. The Value Play at each position is based off of the projections of David Dodds, while the Bargain Buy is my personal recommendation. You don't want a roster full of these guys, but using 1-2 of them could help you win your GPP.
Quarterback
Value Play
Ben Roethlisberger ($5700) vs. Houston- It's rare that you see a player of Roethlisberger's pedigree in this article but that's how far his price has fallen. He's only thrown two touchdowns over the past two games, but he's still thrown for enough yards to be a decent value at this price. The Texans are giving up more than 270 yards per game and have given up 7 plays of more than 40 yards through the air.
Bargain Buy
Derek Carr ($5800) vs. Arizona- Carr had his coming out party last week with 4 touchdowns against the Chargers. Tony Sparano seems to have loosened the reigns since taking over and that's a great thing for Carr, who has a big arm. You wouldn't think Arizona would be a good match up until you see that they're giving up more than 300 yards per game in the passing game. If Kirk Cousins can put up 354 yards on this defense then Carr should be able to carry over his Week 6 success.
Running Back
Value Play
Ahmad Bradshaw ($4700) vs. Cincinnati- Bradshaw has been one of the best redraft values in all of fantasy football so far. He's RB7 so far, but it doesn't look like DraftKings is buying it. The Bengals are giving up 4.8 yards per carry, despite their reputation as a stout defense. The best part about Bradshaw is that his receiving prowess gives him a low floor while his red zone usage raises his ceiling.
Bargain Buy
Alfred Morris ($4700) vs. Tennessee- Morris has been a bit of a disappointment so far this year and the Titans have been surprisingly decent against the run. Still, I like the Redskins to build a lead in this one and Morris to see 20-25 carries like he did earlier in the year against Jacksonville and Philadelphia. Like Roethlisberger, Morris is simply too good to be passed on at this price.
Wide Receiver
Value Play
Justin Hunter ($3700) vs. Washington- Hunter has finally become the guy we all hoped he'd be in Tennessee and his price hasn't had time to catch up. He has no less than 5 targets in any game this year (he topped 5 only 3 times in 2013) and he's seen a ton of snaps the past two weeks. It looks like the Titans are finally satisfied that Hunter is ready to fill his potential. Hunter may very well be the play of the week in DFS this week.
Bargain Buy
Dwayne Bowe ($3500) vs. San Diego- Bowe's an enigma and he always has been. But at $3500 you don't really have a choice but to play him. Brandon Flowers is banged up for the Chargers and they just gave up 4 touchdown passes to Derek Carr and the Raiders. The Chiefs are going to have to score to keep pace in this one, and that's exactly what Bowe needs to be fantasy relevant. He's a steal at this price.
Tight End
Value Play
Larry Donnell ($3500) vs. Dallas- There are many people down on Donnell, but remember he was a reversed touchdown away from a good week last week and the Giants offense was atrocious. I expect them to be better in Week 7 and Donnell should be able to exploit the Cowboys linebackers. With Victor Cruz out for the year there are more targets to go around and Donnell may just be the first look on most red zone plays.
Bargain Buy
Charles Clay ($3100) vs. Chicago- Clay has been hot and cold this year (with more cold than hot) but the Bears defense may be just the cure for what ails him. This defense gave up two scores to Greg Olsen in Week 5 and 50+ yards to Jace Amaro and Richard Rodgers earlier in the year. The Bears linebackers are exploitable and the Dolphins game plan should try to take advantage of that. Clay is more of a risk than Donnell but is a nice contrarian play if you're going cheap at tight end.
Defense
Pittsburgh Steelers ($2700) vs. Houston- The Steelers defense isn't anything special, but I'm basically targeting Ryan Fitzpatrick here. Fitzpatrick averaged 2 picks per game against the Giants, Bills, and Cowboys and is a threat to make an ill-advised decision at any moment. There aren't a lot of sub-$3000 defenses I like this week, so if you don't choose Pittsburgh I'd pay up for someone a little higher up the list.
