FanDuel was back at it again with their massive Week 4 Sunday Million contest, requiring a $25 entry fee with 19,913 people getting paid out at least $40. This massive $1,750,000 million GPP tournament had 82,352 entries available for buy-in and ended up overlaying as only 76,044 entries were sold before lineups locked. There was an overlay of 6,308 entries for $157,700, which helped to make your $25 entry go just a little bit further as it had a better chance at cashing. Each week FanDuel will be running a Sunday Million GPP Contest and we will break it down here at Footballguys.com and see what the keys were to having the top lineup on the week and taking home the top prize of $200,000.
Here's how Week 4 of the Sunday Million shook out.

The winner of the Week 4 FanDuel Sunday Million was siksidin25 who took home the $200,000 first place prize along with the $100,000 second place prize. Siksidin25 had the "Highly Experienced" badge on FanDuel and put an end to the three week run of winners who had the "Experienced" tag. It was pretty clear that it was his core set of players that hit as he had 8 teams finish in the top 34 overall in this particular contest. The main core consisted of Matt Ryan stacked with Julio Jones and Michael Crabtree, Jordan Reed, Nick Novak and the Buffalo Bills defense. The QB/WR stack of Ryan and Jones combined for 78.52 points alone and in itself gave his team a huge edge as Ryan was only owned by 1.9% of the field and Jones at 13.9%.
He switched running backs in and out of his core set of teams as he had sets of LeSean McCoy and Jordan Howard, with Mark Ingram and Carlos Hyde and LeSean McCoy and Tevin Coleman as the third set out of his top three entries that finished 1st, 2nd and 6th. LeSean McCoy continues to be under owned in these big GPPs week in and week out as once again he was priced modestly at $7,600 but was only owned by 2.4% of the field and gave you 19.80 points. Jordan Howard was the value play of the week at running back at just $5,600 and was owned by 21.3% of the field.
Not only did siksidin25 have Julio Jones and his 42.00 FanDuel points, he also had the next top scoring wide receiver in Michael Crabtree at $6,500 at a mere 4.0% ownership. If there was one player you could say that he missed on it would be Jeremy Maclin who only scored 10.30 points. He hit the top scoring tight end in Jordan Reed who scored 23.80 points at 11.9% ownership. This was a week where the defense wasn't as key to hit on as the top scoring team only put up 15.00 points but he so happened to luck out and pick the Buffalo Bills on the road against the Patriots at 2.2% ownership. Nick Novak was minimum price at $4,500 and just owned by 6.6% and scored a solid 12.00 points.
Siksidin25 put together one of the top showings in the Sunday Million so far this season as he dominated the top of the leaderboard with his strong core of players. One of the interesting facts about his team was that he left $700 salary on the table as he only used $59,300 of his $60,000 salary cap. The past winners so far this season have used all or have been just $100 under the cap.

WHAT WORKED?
Stacking -- Going through the top 10 teams in Week 4 of the Sunday Million, stacking the QB with the teams top WR occurred on all 10 teams. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones was on 7 of the 10 teams and Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown were on the other 3 teams. Both Matt Ryan and Ben Roethlisberger were at super low ownership (1.9%, 5.5%), and that is exactly what you are looking for when you are trying to find the winning QB/WR combo for GPPs. Although both Antonio Brown and Julio Jones were higher owned (29.7%, 13.9%) it didn't matter as the lower owned quarterbacks balanced out the possibility of being over owned.
Super Stacking -- The triple stack QB/RB/WR came into play twice this week as two teams went heavy on the Falcons with Matt Ryan, Tevin Coleman and Julio Jones with the other actually having a four player stack with Ryan/Coleman/Freeman/Jones and finished 10th place overall. You have to be aware of stacking in tournaments and if you can predict the right game and team to piece together you can watch your team climb up the leaderboard.
Julio Jones + Michael Crabtree -- The combo of Julio Jones and Michael Crabtree at wide receiver was owned by all 10 of the top 10 teams and they combined for 19 receptions, 388 receiving yards, and 4 touchdowns (72.30 FanDuel points). Antonio Brown was the next most popular WR option as he was on 4 of the top 10 teams and Jeremy Maclin was next as he was on all of siksidin25's top six teams.
WHAT FAILED?
Paying up at Running Back -- David Johnson $8,700, LeVeon Bell $8,300, and Lamar Miller $8,200 were all the top priced running backs this week and not one of them made it onto a top ten roster. Some of the top values on the week were Terrance West at $4,900, Jordan Howard at $5,600, Mark Ingram $6,800, Spencer Ware $6,200 and Carlos Hyde $6,800 who were all priced at under $7,000 but were all key players in the winning rosters this week.
Saints Passing Game -- If you invested in the high priced salary players such as Drew Brees $8,600, Brandin Cooks $8,200, Willie Snead $7,500 or Coby Fleener $5,400 you were very disappointed as three of the Saints five touchdowns went to Full Back John Kuhn. Brees finished with 207 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns and interceptions which wasn't a total waste but with Cooks and Snead and Fleener they combined for 7 catches for 73 yards and 0 touchdowns.
