There is a growing movement in the Dynasty community toward “devy” players. The term “devy” refers to developmental players carried on the dynasty league rosters. These devy players are usually college players but can even be high school athletes. Each week, we will look at a different set of devy rankings.
Finding devy tight ends is harder than locating a needle in a haystack. Not every “can't miss” prospect hits in the NFL, especially for fantasy owners. Transitioning to the NFL is not easy rookies in general, but the tight end position might be the most difficult. Learning the routes and blocking assignments takes time. But, the strength and ability to block a defensive lineman or linebacker in the running game will help a rookie tight end see the field sooner. Another huge consideration must be the team drafting the rookie tight end. Some teams and offenses are friendlier to the tight end position than others. So, of the tight end prospects below, only one or two will be fantasy starters, if history holds true.
