Footballguys has partnered with FanDuel and as part of that deal, I will be penning a weekly piece that tries to cover some of the finer points on beating their contests. This article will usually appear on Saturdays and not include the early Thursday games.
My approach to FanDuel's Daily Games
In salary cap games where other companies are determining prices, I like to see where their thoughts differ substantially from my projections. My value chart below matches up my projections against FanDuel's prices:
Some explanation of my Excel manipulation is in order:
- Everything is sorted by position
- I have converted my projections to FanDuel Fantasy Points. These figures appear in the FP column.
- The Price column reflects FanDuel's Week 7 Price
- The Price per FP column reflects the cost per projected fantasy point (the lower the value the better).
- I have highlighted player's names (in green) that should be strong considerations for your lineups. They generally reflect the most bang for the buck at their respective positions. Players in yellow also are worth consideration when building your roster.
General Thoughts
Situations that stand out to me this week.
- Peyton Manning ($10,000) is 3 passing TDs from breaking the NFL record. Bovada has that prop at -180 suggesting that the betting public thinks it's a slam dunk that he will indeed score 3 TDs this weekend. Despite a lot of other great values at QB this week, it's probably the safest play in cash games this week.
- The Minnesota Vikings are yielding 3.83 sacks per game. The Buffalo Bills are generating 2.83 sacks per contest. In Buffalo (and against a struggling rookie QB), there might not be a more slam dunk play on defense this year. Play the Bills with confidence.
- Atlanta Falcons are giving up 1.8 rushing TDs per contest over the last 4 weeks. RB Justin Forsett ($6,200) looks like like he should easily justify his cost.
- The Arizona defense has been shredded in the air as of late. Over the last 4 weeks, they have given up 359 passing yards and 2.3 passing TDs per contest. QB Derek Carr ($6,800), WR James Jones ($5,500) and WR Andre Holmes ($6,000) all could be in for strong performances in a game at home.
