NOTE: This column is a living document and will be updated throughout the morning. Major changes to the content will be in red. Check back often for additions as gameday inactives are announced and lineup / depth chart changes are reported. I'll also be retweeting those reports with quick bits of analysis, so make sure you're following @JeneBramel and checking my timeline on Twitter.
Despite the long list of injuries last week, there isn't much up in the air this week. Aaron Rodgers, Percy Harvin, Cecil Shorts, Jordan Reed and many others have already been ruled out. Maurice Jones-Drew, Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart are extremely unlikely to play. Others have recovered quickly (e.g. Eddie Lacy) or have been cleared to return from long term injuries (e.g. Rashad Jennings).
I'll add any critical pregame updates here as they happen, but there's arguably just one critical game-time decision among skill position players today. But it's a big one without a clear answer.
reggie bush | calf | questionable
Bush made it through two consecutive limited practices at the end of the week. Every trustworthy local and national media source has reported that Bush is expected to play. But that doesn't make this decision an easy one for fantasy owners. Bush told reporters that he wasn't close to playing last Sunday after aggravating his calf strain. This type of injury is difficult for a running back to play through. And Joique Bell is healthy and playing well. It can't be assumed that Bush will be effective, be given enough touches to be productive or avoid a setback in warmups or early in the game. I'll update with any breaking news this morning, but I believe we'll hear only that Bush is expected to play.
Fantasy expectation: If you've got a similar option, use it today. If you've got a lesser option, I'd strongly consider using it unless you are comfortable with the risk that Bush does little tomorrow night. If you've got both Bell and Bush, hold the lineup slot for one or the other.
ADRIAN PETERSON | foot / GROIN | QUESTIONABLE
toby gerhart | hamstring | questionable
Not surprisingly, multiple sources are reporting that Peterson will not play today. There was brief optimism after Peterson partially participated in Friday's practice and a Saturday walkthrough, but his foot sprain is too much to play through. There's little reason to risk a damaging aggravation of the sprain, which is currently a low grade, non-surgical injury, or a major cascade injury. Gerhart is also expected to be out today.
Fantasy expectation: Keep both Peterson and Gerhart on your bench today.
roddy white | knee | limited
White has a knee contusion after a fall in last week's game. He complained of some swelling and stiffness and was limited in practice this week. White was very optimistic about his health in the locker room on Friday, telling reporters he felt good and expected to "play fast" today.
Fantasy expectation: Use White as you normally would.
eddie lacy | ankle | probable
Lacy's practice participation evolved exactly as the Packers said it would. Aggressive rehab and treatment allowed Lacy to get back on the practice field for limited reps on Friday and he's listed probable. That's a strong indication that the conservative Green Bay medical staff feels he's ready to play. Lacy may not see his usual workload and is at some risk of an aggravation, but I expect the plan is to get him at least 15 touches today.
Fantasy expectation: Consider Lacy a high variance mid-RB2 today.
maurice jones-drew | hamstring | doubtful
Jones-Drew will reportedly test his hamstring in warmups today. He was expected to run a little on Friday and did not. It's now 10 days since his injury. Without any practice time and the Jaguars having little to play for today, it's unlikely that Jones-Drew will be allowed to play and risk additional injury. Should he be active, he will not see his usual workload and will be at risk of an in-game aggravation.
Fantasy expectation: If he's somehow cleared to play, Jones-Drew should be avoided today.
cecil shorts | groin | questionable
Shorts said this week that an MRI showed an injury that would need offseason surgery. That likely means he's been dealing with a sports hernia (core abdominal muscle tear) for much of the season. Adam Schefter has tweeted this morning that Shorts will miss today's game. Don't be surprised if Shorts is shut down for the season next week.
Fantasy expectation: Shorts is expected to be inactive today.
Best of luck in your fantasy games this weekend. I'll be back on Monday morning to review all the Week 15 injuries in the Injury Rounds column. Follow me on Twitter @JeneBramel for breaking news and analysis during the games today.
