Strengths: At 6'6" and a rocked-out 285 pounds, Thompson was an All-State tight end in the Texas high school system. He had the strength and burst to earn conference honors as a defensive end at SMU. Titans offensive coordinator Chris Palmer says Thompson has uncanny speed and hands. If Tennessee succeeds in converting him back to tight end, Thompson's athleticism is intriguing on the same level as Antonio Gates and Jimmy Graham but with more similarities to Rob Gronkowski.

Weaknesses: Thompson is very inexperienced as a blocker. He hasn't played receiver at the college level beyond an impressive all-star game.

2012 Outlook: Don't expect much this year because he'll sit behind a solid roster of veteran tight ends in Tennessee.

Dynasty outlook: Perhaps the best mid-to-late round value if you're a swing-for-the-fences type of drafter at this point of the process.

NFL Comparison: Rob Gronkowski
