Using SOS - Defensive Team By Committees

While we'd all love to be able to field a stud defense every week, that's often not feasible. If you don't want to spend a high pick on a defense (or if you mistakenly miss out on them), you'll likely turn to a defensive team by committee (DTBC). This article will focus on finding a two-team combo for your committee.
First off, we'll eliminate all of the defenses with an average draft position (ADP) in the first ten rounds and any defense we project to score more than 150 points this season. We will also eliminate any defense that is projected to score fewer than 75 points this season. That means, these teams are not going to be in our player pool.

Finally, we'll use SOS to determine which duo forms the most desirable DTBC. Below you will see all 151 possible combos ranked by the expected fantasy points (FtsyPts). You will also see a column labeled "ADP". The two numbers there are the ADP for the two defenses in the combo. The trick is to find a high-scoring combo that will be a relative bargain. As an added bonus, we've included the expected FtsyPts for the stud defenses that were excluded as well. This will easily allow you to see how your combo will measure up with those better defenses.
