by Mark Wimer, Exclusive to Footballguys.com

Quarterback

QB Tom Brady - NE - Brady suffered what multiple sources have described as torn knee ligaments (most reports say an ACL and MCL tears). He will miss the remainder of the season.

QB Brodie Croyle - KC - Croyle suffered what appears to be a separated right shoulder during the game on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along, but it appears he'll miss some time due to this injury. The severity of the injury isn't known as of Monday morning.

QB Jeff Garcia - TB - Garcia is questionable for next week's game against the Atlanta Falcons with an ankle sprain, Jon Gruden said during his news conference Monday. Garcia is suffering from a swollen ankle as of Monday morning, and evaluations are ongoing. Gruden said an update would come in the next couple of days.

QB Matt Moore - CAR - Moore was inactive on Sunday as expected (broken fibula).

QB Ben Roethlisberger - PIT - Roethlisberger suffered a hyper-extended knee in the first half of the game on Sunday, but returned to action. Apparently the injury is minor - Roethlisberger indicated he was OK after the game.

QB Tony Romo - DAL - Romo injured his left middle finger and chin during the team's Week 1 game. X-rays came back negative on his finger, and the injury to his chin is not believed to be serious. Romo will be evaluated further as the week goes along, but initial indications are that these injuries are not serious.

QB Alex Smith - SF - Smith injured his surgically repaired throwing shoulder at the end of Friday's practice, the 49ers revealed on Sunday. Smith was given an MRI following the practice, and a source close to the situation said it revealed a fracture in the shoulder. The results of the exam have been sent to Dr. James Andrews, the Birmingham, Ala., surgeon who operated on Smith's shoulder in December. Evaluations are ongoing.

QB Troy Smith - BAL - Smith missed the game on Sunday as expected due to his infected tonsils/complications from the illness (he was listed as out on Friday).

QB Drew Stanton - DET - Stanton was inactive on Sunday after being listed as probable on Friday (right thumb injury).

QB Kurt Warner - ARI - Warner's nose was covered by a large bandage after the game vs. San Francisco, due to abrasions/scrapes on his face. The injury isn't considered serious at this time.

QB Vince Young - TEN - Young may have suffered damage to/or a torn MCL in his knee and is probably out 2-4 weeks due to the injury, according to initial evaluations. He was on crutches after the game and further evaluations are ongoing - his status isn't settled as of Monday morning, but initial indications are not good.

Running Back

RB Joseph Addai - IND - Addai got his bell rung during the game vs. Chicago, and though he was cleared to return to the field the team held him out as a precaution. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

RB Marion Barber III - DAL - Barber left the game on Sunday after bruising his ribs - x-rays were negative. Initial indications are that the injury is minor - the Cowboys were way ahead when Barber got dinged and the team allowed rookies Felix Jones and Tashard Choice get some game time experience while Barber cooled his heels after a solid game. "I'm good. It's all right. Nothing to worry about," Barber said after the game.

RB Quinton Ganther - TEN - Ganther missed the game on Sunday due to his sore hamstring (listed as questionable on Friday).

I ran great. I was kind of hesitant early because it was hurting me a little bit. I wasn't going to miss this game. I wanted to go out there and push it and I did push it. It felt real good. "We were concerned about the knee and the fact that he didn't play a lot," coach John Harbaugh said after the game. "We were hopeful to get him into the game at some point in time, but the way the game shook out, we were unable to do it. He'll practice in a more physical manner this week, and then we should have him ready to go next week."

RB Maurice Morris - SEA - Morris sprained his knee during the 3rd quarter on Sunday - he'll have an MRI on Monday and further evaluations of the injury will be ongoing during the coming week. Referring to Morris and Burleson's sprained knees during a radio spot on Monday, coach Holmgren stated "They don't appear to be 'long' injuries," meaning recovery shouldn't take a long period of time.

RB Aaron Stecker - NO - Stecker was inactive on Sunday due to his injured hamstring after being listed as questionable on Friday's injury report.

RB Pierre Thomas - NO - Thomas sustained a slightly dinged ankle during the team's Week 1 game. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. The team doesn't expect it to be an issue.
