Week 17 Early Injury Report

Quarterback
QB Daunte Culpepper - DET - Culpepper was inactive vs. the Saints due to his sore right shoulder (listed as doubtful to play on Friday).
QB Ken Dorsey - CLE - Dorsey hurt his ribs and suffered what is termed a "mild" concussion during the game on Sunday and was escorted to the locker room with six minutes left in the game. He didn't return to action - Bruce Gradkowski finished the game at QB for the Browns. Dorsey will be evaluated further as the week goes along.
QB Gus Frerotte - MIN - Frerotte was active but did not play vs. Atlanta, after being listed as questionable to play on Friday due to his sore back.
QB Jeff Garcia - TB - Garcia suffered a gash on his nose during the game vs. San Diego - the injury isn't considered serious as of Monday. "He's a tough guy, hopefully he'll be ready to go against Oakland," coach Gruden said after the game.
QB Matt Hasselbeck - SEA - Hasselbeck was inactive on Sunday due to his sore back (listed as questionable on Friday).
QB Dan Orlovsky - DET - Orlovsky played through flu symptoms on Sunday, but was eventually benched for Drew Stanton - he is expected to start again in the season finale as Daunte Culpepper's shoulder is bad enough that he won't be available. "Awful, embarrassing, we stunk," Orlovsky said on Sunday, offering his postgame assessment of the Lions' offense. "Any bad adjective you can use - throw it in there...We played decent football on offense for the first 10 plays and then after that it was embarrassing."
QB Carson Palmer - CIN - As usual, Carson Palmer sat out of the game vs. Cleveland (elbow injury - out on Friday).
QB Ben Roethlisberger - PIT - Roethlisberger left the visiting locker room at LP Stadium with his right ankle packed in ice. Roethlisberger indicated after the game he'd like to rest up during week 17, but added: "But, I want to get out there and get some snaps and see. That is Coach's call."
Running Back
RB J.J. Arrington - ARI - Arrington missed the game on Sunday due to his sore knee after being listed as questionable to play on Friday.
RB Marion Barber - DAL - While Barber was active for Saturday night's game, he was used sparingly and his toe is clearly still a big issue. Tashard Choice was the main back vs. Baltimore, and that is likely to continue vs. Philly.
RB Matt Forte - CHI - Forte missed practices at the end of last week and is officially questionable as of last Friday due to his injured toe.
RB Frank Gore - SF - Gore tried some light jogging on the Edward Jones Dome turf before the game on Sunday under the supervision of strength and conditioning coach Duane Carlisle. Gore never tried changing directions or sprinting, and is apparently still very limited due to his injured ankle. He looks very iffy for the season finale as of Monday but stay tuned this week to see how he's able to work.
RB Brandon Jackson - GB - Jackson was limited in practices last week due to his injured wrist and was officially questionable to play as of Friday due to his injury.
RB Steven Jackson - STL - Jackson finished Sunday's game with a tweaked hamstring, suffered sometime late in the first half, but Jackson played through it. Jackson said the problem occurred because he was "just overcompensating for the other leg." [referring to his injured thigh].
RB Marshawn Lynch - BUF - Lynch was sidelined for the second half of the game vs. Denver after aggravating his bruised shoulder - Fred Jackson did the heavy lifting for the Bills during the 2nd half.
RB Deuce McAllister - NO - McAllister continues to play through his sore knee, and did fairly well in the game vs. Detroit. However, he isn't sure he'll get back to 100%: "I'm still looking for that 4.3 to 4.2 I used to run (in the 40-yard dash). I don't know if I still have that in me," said McAllister. "A couple of those runs, I thought I should have got more yards than I did, but the offensive line, the fullback, the tight ends, they did a great job and I was just able to get up on the secondary a little bit today."
RB Chris Perry - CIN - Perry was active but did not play after being listed as probable on Friday (groin injury).
RB P.J. Pope - DEN - Pope became the Broncos' sixth tailback to start a game this year and then he suffered a game-ending injury when he strained his left hamstring on the first play of the second series - Pope didn't return to action. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
RB Clinton Portis - WAS - Portis suffered a bruised right hand in the win over Philadelphia - to go along with all the other bumps and bruises he's endured this year. Portis did return to action after suffering the injury.
RB Ray Rice - BAL - Rice sat out of the game on Saturday due to his injured calf (he was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report).
RB Jonathan Stewart - CAR - Stewart left the game in the 2nd quarter after being hit in the head. He came back in the second half, though, and ended up with 29 yards on 9 carries.
RB Lawrence Vickers - CLE - Vickers was active but did not play on Sunday after being listed as questionable on Friday (ankle injury). He suffered from back spasms that flared up during pre-game warmups.
RB Kenny Watson - CIN - Watson was inactive on Sunday due to his sore hamstring (listed as questionable on Friday).
RB Selvin Young - DEN - Young suffered a pinched nerve during the game vs. Buffalo - he did return to action though. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
Wide Receiver
WR Hank Baskett - PHI - Baskett was out on Sunday as expected (knee, out on Friday).
WR Bernard Berrian - MIN - Berrian injured his left ankle in the third quarter vs. Atlanta. He was able to return to action, though. "It's fine now," he said after the game. Berrian will be evaluated further as the week goes along.
WR Anquan Boldin - ARI - Boldin's sore shoulder landed him on the inactive list vs. New England (he was questionable to play as of Friday).
WR Marty Booker - CHI - Booker was limited in practices last week due to his injured rib and is looking very iffy for Monday Night Football vs. Green Bay.
WR Ronald Curry - OAK - Curry sat out of the game on Sunday due to his ongoing toe injury woes - he was listed as doubtful on Friday.
WR Kevin Curtis - PHI - Curtis was out on Sunday as expected (calf injury, listed as doubtful on Friday).
WR Malcom Floyd - SD - Floyd missed the game on Sunday as expected due to his injured lung. He was listed as out on Friday.
WR James Hardy - BUF - Hardy was inactive on Sunday as expected due to his knee injury (he was listed as out on Friday).
WR Calvin Johnson - DET - Johnson sat out the fourth quarter with an ice pack on his bruised right knee - he expects to play vs. Green Bay in the season finale. Johnson will be evaluated further as the week goes along.
WR Chad Johnson - CIN - Johnson was inactive on Sunday due to his sore hamstring (listed as probable to play on Friday). "He (Ocho Cinco) just never got loosened up," head coach Marvin Lewis said. "He felt tight. So hopefully by resting it today, he'll be able to play next week."
WR Ashley Lelie - OAK - Lelie landed on IR prior to the game on Sunday due to his sore calf. His season is over now.
WR Marcus Maxwell - BAL - Maxwell was unable to play on Saturday as expected due to his injured hip (listed as out on Friday).
WR Kenneth Moore - CAR - Moore was inactive on Sunday due to his injured hamstring after being listed as out on Friday's injury report.
WR Sinorice Moss - NYG - Sinorice Moss missed the game on Sunday due to his sore calf (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
WR Darius Reynaud - MIN - Reynaud missed the game on Sunday as expected due to his injured foot (listed as doubtful to play on Friday).
WR Isaiah Stanback - DAL - Stanback (shoulder injury, listed as probable on Friday) was inactive for the game on Saturday despite being listed as probable to play.
Tight End
TE Daniel Fells - STL - Fells left early in the 2nd quarter with an unspecified knee injury and did not return to action - he'll be evaluated further to determine the exact nature and severity of his injury.
TE Casey Fitzsimmons - DET - Fitzsimmons missed practice Thursday and Friday because of illness (flu), and didn't finish the game on Sunday due to his sickness. He'll try and get healthy for the season finale.
TE Jeremy Shockey - NO - Shockey commented after the Detroit game that he hopes to come back and play in the season finale next week against Carolina - he left Sunday's game with a sprained right ankle and didn't return to action.
TE Kellen Winslow - CLE - Winslow was out as expected on Sunday due to his ankle injury (listed as out on Friday).
TE Jason Witten - DAL - Witten sprained his knee in Saturday night's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He's already dealing with a sprained ankle - his status for next week vs. Philadelphia is dicey as of Monday.
Kicker
Offensive Line
OL San Francisco 49ers - SF - G Adam Snyder was active but did not play on Sunday after being listed as questionable on Friday (ankle injury).
OL Cincinnati Bengals - CIN - OT Levi Jones missed the game on Sunday due to his hamstring injury (listed as out on Friday).
OL Cincinnati Bengals - CIN - RT Stacy Andrews suffered a right knee injury late in the game on Sunday. "It hurts," said Andrews, who was on crutches after the game. "I've just got to do everything I can to get it back right." He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. The worst is feared, a tear of the ACL, that could require reconstructive surgery, putting his availability and ability in question on the eve of his free agency with a rehab that may not be completed by the start of training camp.
OL Buffalo Bills - BUF - OT Jason Peters was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (knee injury).
OL Cleveland Browns - CLE - OL Eric Steinbach left in the fourth quarter of the game on Sunday after sustaining a back injury - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Dallas Cowboys - DAL - G Montrae Holland (ankle injury, out) was inactive for the game on Saturday night, as expected.
OL Philadelphia Eagles - PHI - G Shawn Andrews (injured back) was out on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday). LG Todd Herremans played with ankle and shoulder injuries vs. Washington, managing to "gut out" the game.
OL New York Jets - NYJ - OT Wayne Hunter was active but did not play after being listed as questionable on Friday (shoulder injury).
OL Detroit Lions - DET - G Edwin Mulitalo was out on Sunday due to his sore ankle (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
OL Carolina Panthers - CAR - Geoff Hangartner started for Keydrick Vincent at offensive guard, as Vincent was out on Sunday due to his groin injury as expected (listed as out on Friday, and Vincent was placed on IR on Saturday).
OL New England Patriots - NE - LT Matt Light suffered a partially separated right shoulder last week against Oakland, but was active and started yesterday. With a big lead built up by New England by half-time vs. Arizona, Mark LeVoir replaced Light late in the second quarter and remained at left tackle during the second half.
OL St. Louis Rams - STL - LG Jacob Bell left the game in the 2nd quarter on Sunday, with a hamstring injury, and did not return to action. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Baltimore Ravens - BAL - OT Willie Anderson suffered a sprained left ankle vs. Dallas - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Washington Redskins - WAS - OT Jon Jansen missed the game vs. Philly as expected (knee, doubtful on Friday).
OL New Orleans Saints - NO - LT Jammal Brown aggravated the sprained left ankle on Sunday that kept him out of last week's game at Chicago - he hopes to play in the season finale vs. Carolina.
OL Seattle Seahawks - SEA - The Seahawks announced on Saturday that OT Sean Locklear's season was over because of the toe he dislocated last weekend at St. Louis.
OL Pittsburgh Steelers - PIT - OT Marvel Smith missed another game on Sunday as expected (back, out on Friday).
OL Tennessee Titans - TEN - C Kevin Mawae injured his elbow in the 4th quarter on Sunday. The extent of the injury was unknown after the game. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Minnesota Vikings - MIN - OT Artis Hicks (elbow injury) missed another game on Sunday after being listed as doubtful to play on Friday.
Defensive Tackle
DT Lorenzo Alexander - WAS - Alexander suffered a hamstring injury of unspecified severity on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. "I couldn't even move my leg down when it happened," he said after the game, although he was seen walking around without much of a limp after the contest.
DT Alfonso Boone - KC - Boone was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (thigh injury).
DT Tony Brown - TEN - Brown rolled an ankle during the game vs. Pittsburgh. He'll be evaluated and receive further treatment during the week for his sprained ankle.
DT Kendrick Clancy - NO - Clancy was inactive vs. Detroit due to his sore hamstring (listed as out on Friday).
DT Barry Cofield - NYG - Cofield suffered a leg or back injury of unspecified severity and location during the game on Sunday, and was writhing in pain at one point - however, he did return to action on the next series. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
DT Kedric Golston - WAS - Golston sat out of the game on Sunday after being listed as doubtful to play on Friday (ankle injury).
DT Albert Haynesworth - TEN - Haynesworth sat out of the game vs. Pittsburgh as expected, due to his injured knee (listed as out on Friday's injury report).
DT Maake Kemoeatu - CAR - Kemoeatu didn't play Sunday night against the New York Giants because of an ankle injury. Kemoeatu hurt the ankle last week against Denver and only practiced once on a limited basis last week. He was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report.
DT Shaun Smith - CLE - Smith was out as expected on Sunday due to his calf injury (listed as doubtful on Friday).
DT Pat Williams - MIN - Williams missed the game vs. Atlanta as expected (broken shoulder, out on Friday's injury report).
Defensive End
DE Jared Allen - MIN - Allen is playing with an injured shoulder and sprained knee, but continues to start week in and week out for the Vikings.
DE Jamaal Anderson - ATL - Anderson injured an ankle during the game on Sunday and didn't return to action. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
DE Jevon Kearse - TEN - Kearse suffered a concussion of unspecified severity in the game vs. Pittsburgh - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along and he'll need to pass the NFL's baseline test before resuming action.
DE Brett Keisel - PIT - Keisel returned to the starting lineup on Sunday after missing the previous three games with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
DE Richard Seymour - NE - Seymour suffered a lower back injury on Sunday that left him in considerable pain, according to reports out of Boston. He is looking doubtful for Sunday's final regular-season game in Buffalo.
DE Justin Tuck - NYG - Tuck played despite a bad case of the flu - he took intravenous fluids to keep him from dehydrating and went down several times from weakness (he threw up on the field at one point) and also suffered from a lower leg problem. "It was a huge game and I wasn't going to miss it for the world," Tuck said.
DE Kyle Vanden Bosch - TEN - Vanden Bosch sat out of the game vs. Pittsburgh as expected, due to his injured groin (listed as out on Friday's injury report).
DE Ty Warren - NE - Warren is playing through a sore groin, according to reports out of Boston on Monday.
Inside Linebacker
ILB Tedy Bruschi - NE - Bruschi was inactive vs. Arizona due to his knee injury (listed as out on Friday).
ILB Bobby Carpenter - DAL - Carpenter missed the game on Saturday as expected due to his knee and calf injuries (listed as out on Friday).
ILB Channing Crowder - MIA - Crowder was inactive on Sunday due to his sore knee after being listed as questionable on Friday.
ILB Spencer Larsen - DEN - Larsen was inactive on Sunday due to his injured groin after being listed as questionable to play on Friday.
ILB Teddy Lehman - BUF - Lehman was inactive on Sunday as expected due to his groin injury (he was listed as out on Friday).

OLB James Harrison - PIT - Harrison hurt his hip in the first quarter on Sunday. He left the game briefly and returned after getting evaluated in the Steelers' locker room. When asked after the contest if he'd prefer to rest instead of play against the Browns, Harrison said: "It's really not that meaningful of a game, and the way I'm feeling right now? Yeah."
OLB Leroy Hill - SEA - Hill's injured neck cost him a game on Sunday - he was listed as doubtful to play on Friday.
OLB Travis Laboy - ARI - LaBoy sat out of the game vs. New England due to his injured ankle. He was listed as out on Friday.
OLB D.D. Lewis - SEA - Lewis was inactive on Sunday due to his injured shin (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
OLB Ernie Sims - DET - Sims tweaked his right knee on the Lions' first defensive play of the third quarter, but he returned to the game on the next series. The injury doesn't appear serious as of Monday morning.
OLB Gerris Wilkinson - NYG - Wilkinson missed another game due to his knee injury (listed as out on Friday).
Cornerback
CB Nnamdi Asomugha - OAK - Asomugha (sore neck) was the only Raider not to finish the game vs. Houston. He was injured while making a tackle and didn't get back in the action - Asomugha will be evaluated further as the week goes along.
CB Champ Bailey - DEN - Bailey tried to play through his injured groin, but Josh Reed set a career high in catches while being covered by Bailey most of the game, and Bailey had his groin heavily bandaged after the game. "The good thing is, I finished the game without any setbacks, so I'm looking forward to next week," Bailey said - but he also admitted he isn't 100% healthy in comments after the game.
CB Alan Ball - DAL - Ball was inactive on Saturday due to his injured ankle (listed as doubtful on Friday).
CB Cortland Finnegan - TEN - Finnegan's nose was bright red after the game on Sunday because it was badly bruised. "Rudolph is a good friend of mine," he said with a smile. "Actually I got in the pile and got jabbed. I got an uppercut." The injury isn't considered serious as of Monday.
CB Travis Fisher - DET - Fisher left the game on Sunday in the third quarter because of a concussion - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along and he'll have to pass the NFL's baseline test before resuming action.
CB Jabari Greer - BUF - Greer was inactive on Sunday as expected due to his knee injury (he was listed as out on Friday).
CB Ellis Hobbs - NE - Hobbs missed the game on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday due to his shoulder injury.
CB Maurice Leggett - KC - Leggett was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (shoulder injury).
CB Samari Rolle - BAL - Rolle suffered a sprained foot vs. Dallas - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
CB Aaron Ross - NYG - Ross left in the third quarter on Sunday due to a concussion - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along and will need to pass the NFL's baseline test in order to resume action.
CB Fabian Washington - BAL - Washington said his hamstring only bothered him during the first defensive series of Saturday night's game against Dallas. After that, it held up well the whole game. "No twinges, it was good," Washington said. "I feel great. I'm just glad it didn't flare up on me like last week."
CB Cary Williams - TEN - Williams was placed on IR prior to the game vs. Pittsburgh (quadricep injury). His season is officially over.
CB Josh Wilson - SEA - Wilson suffered a right-ankle injury early in the 2nd quarter, but returned on the next defensive series. Wilson will be evaluated further as the week goes along.
CB Usama Young - NO - Young left briefly due to an ankle injury on Sunday, but he returned to the game.
Safety
S Jordan Babineaux - SEA - Babineaux was inactive on Sunday due to his concussion/post-concussion effects - he was questionable to play as of Friday.
S Ryan Clark - PIT - The right shoulder that Clark separated earlier this season popped out as he made a tackle during Sunday's game. He had his shoulder X-rayed and left the Steelers' locker room following the game with his arm in a sling. He may sit out of the season finale due to his injury.
S Michael Lewis - SF - Lewis suffered a stinger early in the 4th quarter on Sunday. He was able to return and finish the game - the injury is considered minor as of Monday.
S Marquand Manuel - DEN - Manuel suffered a sprained ankle vs. Buffalo but returned to action. The injury appears minor as of Monday.
S Marlon McCree - DEN - McCree was inactive on Sunday despite being listed as probable to play on Friday (ankle injury).
S Lawyer Milloy - ATL - Milloy was forced out of the game on Sunday due to an unspecified injury - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
S James Sanders - NE - Sanders missed the game on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday due to his abdomen injury.
