Week 16 Early Injury Report

Quarterback
QB Jason Campbell - WAS - Campbell bruised his right wrist taking a hard hit during the 3rd quarter on Sunday. However, Campbell returned for the next series - the injury isn't considered serious at this time.
QB Daunte Culpepper - DET - Culpepper's sore right shoulder kept him sidelined on Sunday (doubtful to play on Friday).
QB Trent Edwards - BUF - Edwards missed the game on Sunday as expected due to his injured groin (listed as doubtful to play on Friday).
QB Gus Frerotte - MIN - Frerotte missed the game on Sunday as expected (back injury, doubtful).
QB Jeff Garcia - TB - Garcia was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (calf injury).
QB Matt Hasselbeck - SEA - Hasselbeck was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (back injury).
QB Carson Palmer - CIN - Palmer didn't play again on Sunday after being listed as out on Friday (elbow injury). The good news is, he's throwing the ball well in rehab and isn't expected to need surgery on his throwing arm in the off-season. The bad news is, the team is likely to shut him down for the season as there is no point to exposing him to possible injury with a 2-11-1 record entering week 16.
Running Back
RB Joseph Addai - IND - Addai was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report (shoulder injury). Coach Dungy indicated that he should be available in week 16, though: "Probably both of those guys (Addai, Sanders) would have been doubtful to play two games in five days," Dungy said. "We thought the prudent thing was to rest them up. I think they should be ready to go."
RB Marion Barber - DAL - Barber may have aggravated his injured toe during the game vs. New York - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. He clearly wasn't 100% for the game vs. New York and ended the game on the sidelines while Tashard Choice put the game on ice for Dallas.
RB Reggie Bush - NO - Bush suffered a bruise and a sprain to his left knee, which was arthroscopically repaired during the season, in New Orleans' overtime loss at Chicago on Thursday night. "I thought once he sprained it, I didn't want to play him because I could tell it was affecting him," coach Sean Payton said. "I know it disappointed him but nonetheless it was what it was, so once I knew he had sprained it, I didn't want to risk injuring it more and putting a player in that wasn't as effective with it being sprained." Bush will be evaluated further as the week goes along - the team is targeting Wednesday's practice session to assess how the knee is responding to treatment.
RB Reuben Droughns - NYG - Droughns suffered a burner due to colliding with a team mate during a return on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
RB Quinton Ganther - TEN - Ganther was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (hamstring injury).
RB Frank Gore - SF - Gore was unable to play on Sunday due to his sore ankle, after being listed as questionable to play on Friday.
RB Korey Hall - GB - Hall was sidelined on Sunday as expected after being listed as doubtful on Friday (knee injury).
RB Jerome Harrison - CLE - Harrison is expected to be out (inactive) against the Eagles due to his rib injury.
RB Steven Jackson - STL - Jackson, who played very well in the first half vs. Seattle, was limited in the 2nd half of the game, partly due to a hard blow to the head suffered in the 4th quarter: "I kind of got dinged up there," Jackson said after the game. "I really don't know what play specifically. But I took a shot and really wasn't feeling all the way there. So we decided to rotate me in and out to see if I would come to. And when I finally did, the clock was really running out on us." Jackson will be evaluated further as the week goes along to check for after-effects of the injury.
RB Brandon Jacobs - NYG - Jacobs was inactive on Sunday as expected due to his knee injury (listed as out on Friday).
RB Luke Lawton - OAK - Lawton was injured during the 2nd half vs. New England on Sunday - the sort of injury and severity aren't specified in reports. Lawton will be evaluated further to determine his availability for the next contest.
RB Deuce McAllister - NO - McAllister's surgically repaired knee isn't holding up to the stresses of playing - "It's played a big part in his role the last four or five weeks and how he's feeling and the swelling he's dealing with and the pain he's dealing with," coach Sean Payton said on Sunday. "He hasn't been 100 percent healthy, but now, he wouldn't be the first one to come out and tell you that because that's the thing you like about him is he's just going to go about his job, but he's fighting through it and to his credit has not mentioned it one time." Pierre Thomas has assumed a much larger role in the offense while McAllister nurses his sore knee.
RB Chris Perry - CIN - Perry was inactive on Sunday as expected after being listed as doubtful on Friday (groin injury).
RB Ray Rice - BAL - Rice was sidelined on Sunday due to his injured calf (listed as doubtful on Friday).
RB Terrelle Smith - ARI - Smith was inactive on Sunday due to an unspecified, non-injury related reason, after being listed as questionable on Friday.
RB Mike Tolbert - SD - Tolbert was sidelined on Sunday due to his injured shoulder (listed as doubtful on Friday).
RB Kenny Watson - CIN - Watson was inactive on Sunday as expected after being listed as doubtful on Friday (hamstring injury).
RB DeAngelo Williams - CAR - Williams was shaken up sometime after his long TD run on Sunday, and missed several series before returning to action. Williams said he was "a little fuzzy" in the head during the contest, but didn't quite know when the injury occurred. He said he was fine after the game and that he expects to play next week.
"I have no idea what happened," Williams said. "They said I was dinged up, or something of that nature, but I was ready to go. The doctors are going to be cautious. But I did go back in there at the end."
Wide Receiver
WR Arnaz Battle - SF - Battle is done for the season after landing on IR due to his injured foot.
WR Chris Chambers - SD - Chambers suffered an apparent head or neck injury during the 3rd quarter of the team's game vs. K.C. The injury did not appear to be serious, and Chambers left the field under his own power. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
WR Ronald Curry - OAK - Curry suffered a turf toe injury during the game on Sunday and didn't complete the contest - fellow starter Ashley Lelie was also injured, leaving the Raiders desperately thin at WR as of week 16.
WR James Hardy - BUF - Hardy went down with a knee injury during the 1st quarter and did not return to action. He was carted off with what looked like a significant injury - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along, but initial indications aren't encouraging.
WR Vincent Jackson - SD - Jackson suffered a minor concussion during the game vs. K.C. but stayed in the action - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along in case of any after-effects.
WR Ashley Lelie - OAK - Lelie suffered a calf injury during the game on Sunday and didn't return to action - fellow starter Ron Curry was also injured, leaving the Raiders desperately thin at WR as of week 16. Lelie will be evaluated further as the week goes along.
WR Marcus Maxwell - BAL - Maxwell was sidelined on Sunday due to his injured hip (listed as doubtful on Friday).
WR Shaun McDonald - DET - McDonald was inactive on Sunday after being listed as out on Friday (ankle injury).
WR Santana Moss - WAS - Moss suffered a concussion of unspecified severity on Sunday, but insisted after the game that he was OK - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
WR Sinorice Moss - NYG - Moss suffered a calf injury during the game on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
WR Jerry Porter - JAX - Porter missed the game on Sunday as expected (groin injury, out).
WR Darius Reynaud - MIN - Reynaud missed the game on Sunday as expected (foot injury, out).
WR Laurent Robinson - ATL - Robinson was inactive (again) on Sunday after being listed as doubtful to play on Friday (hamstring injury).
WR Brad Smith - NYJ - Smith missed the game on Sunday as expected due to his injured head (listed as doubtful on Friday).
WR Isaiah Stanback - DAL - Stanback was inactive on Sunday night after being listed as probable to play on Friday (shoulder injury).
WR Derek Stanley - STL - Stanley suffered an injury to his left knee in the 1st quarter on Sunday and did not return to action - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. After the game coach Jim Haslett said, "We think that it's a significant injury." Stanley is scheduled for an MRI exam on Monday - he is feared to be lost for the season.
WR Roddy White - ATL - White was dinged up vs. Tampa and missed a couple of snaps on Sunday, but returned to action - he is not seriously injured.
Tight End
TE Tory Humphrey - GB - Humphrey suffered a concussion covering a kickoff and did not return to the game - he'll be evaluated further to determine the severity of his brain trauma. Humphrey will also have to pass the NFL's baseline test before returning to action on the field.
TE Zach Miller - OAK - Miller left the game with a stinger late in the contest on Sunday and didn't return to action - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
TE Ben Utecht - CIN - Utecht was inactive on Sunday as expected after being listed as doubtful on Friday (foot injury).
TE Kellen Winslow - CLE - Winslow is expected to be inactive for the game vs. Philadelphia due to his injured ankle.
Kicker
PK Matt Stover - BAL - Stover said after the loss to Pittsburgh in which he kicked 3 field goals that his sprained right ankle held up well yesterday. "You try not to be [affected]," Stover said. "I'm not saying I wasn't affected, but you just grit your teeth and bear it and deal with it."
Offensive Line
OL San Francisco 49ers - SF - RT Adam Snyder injured his left ankle on the 49ers' 2nd drive of the game and limped off the field - he did not return to action. Snyder will be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Cincinnati Bengals - CIN - OT Levi Jones was inactive on Sunday as expected after being listed as doubtful on Friday (hamstring injury).
OL Denver Broncos - DEN - RG Chris Kuper suffered a broken bone in his left hand on Sunday. The break will be evaluated further to determine if Kuper will be able to play with a cast on his limb - stay tuned. LT Ryan Clady limped out of the visiting locker room after the game on Sunday with a twisted right ankle - he'll also be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Tampa Bay Buccaneers - TB - G Jeremy Zuttah was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (ankle injury).
OL San Diego Chargers - SD - C Nick Hardwick went down due to a concussion midway through the 3rd quarter on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along and will need to pass the NFL's baseline test before returning to action. "I don't know," Hardwick said when asked what happened. "No clue."
OL Kansas City Chiefs - KC - C Rudy Niswanger was sidelined on Sunday due to his injured knee (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday).
OL Indianapolis Colts - IND - C Jeff Saturday returned to the lineup vs. Detroit after missing the last two games with a strained left calf. "It went all right," he commented after the game.
OL Dallas Cowboys - DAL - G Montrae Holland was inactive on Sunday as expected due to his ankle injury - he was listed as "out" on Friday.
OL New York Giants - NYG -
Kareem McKenzie hurt his back vs. Dallas and Rich Seubert was unable to finish the game due to flulike symptoms that had him on the locker room floor prior to the game. The Giants' OL played very poorly vs. Dallas, handing over 8 sacks on Eli Manning and generally collapsing in onto Manning on most snaps - the unit was clearly not 100% on Sunday.
OL Green Bay Packers - GB - LT Chad Clifton missed the final series of the game on Sunday due to his sprained thumbs - his injuries negatively impacted his play and the coaches held him out as a result. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Carolina Panthers - CAR - RG Keydrick Vincent went down with a groin injury late in the contest on Sunday and did not return to action. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL New England Patriots - NE - RT Matt Light left the game in the 2nd quarter on Sunday due to a shoulder injury and did not return to action. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Baltimore Ravens - BAL - OG David Hale was sidelined on Sunday due to his injured ankle, despite being listed as probable to play on Friday.
OL Washington Redskins - WAS - OT Jon Jansen was inactive on Sunday as expected (knee injury, doubtful on Friday).
OL Seattle Seahawks - SEA - T Walter Jones was inactive on Sunday due to his injured knee, as expected (listed as out on Friday).
OL Seattle Seahawks - SEA - LT Sean Locklear suffered a dislocated toe on the game's final play - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Pittsburgh Steelers - PIT - OT Marvel Smith was sidelined on Sunday due to his injured back (listed as out on Friday).
OL Minnesota Vikings - MIN - OT Artis Hicks missed the game on Sunday as expected (elbow injury, doubtful).

DT Alan Branch - ARI - Branch was inactive on Sunday due to his cheek injury, after being listed as questionable on Friday.
DT Red Bryant - SEA - Bryant was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (ankle injury).
DT Keyunta Dawson - IND - Dawson was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report (hamstring injury).
DT Eric Foster - IND - Foster was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report (neck injury).
DT Cornelius Griffin - WAS - Griffin was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (shoulder, abdomen injuries).
DT Justin Harrell - GB - Harrell was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report (hip injury).
DT Jovan Haye - TB - Haye was very limited during the game vs. Atlanta, playing just a few snaps before being sidelined due to his ongoing knee woes.
DT Albert Haynesworth - TEN - Haynesworth injured his left knee during the closing minutes of Houston's 13-12 victory over Tennessee. Early indications are he suffered a sprained MCL that could sideline him for the final two games of the regular season. A MRI is scheduled for Monday - "I'll have a report for you after we do some tests," Coach Jeff Fisher said after the game on Sunday. Owners of the Tennessee D/ST will want to keep an eye on the MRI results as Haynesworth is a key player on the DL.
DT Chris Hovan - TB - Hovan was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (knee injury). Hovan said after the loss to Atlanta that he tested his knee during warmups and decided he couldn't play.
DT Maake Kemoeatu - CAR - Kemoeatu injured his ankle during the second half the game on Sunday and did not return to action. The extent of the injury is not currently known - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
DT Tony McDaniel - JAX - McDaniel was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report (toe injury).
DT Cory Redding - DET - Redding landed on IR this week before the game due to his troublesome knee injury.
DT Fred Robbins - NYG - Robbins was inactive on Sunday due to his shoulder injury (listed as questionable on Friday).
DT Pat Williams - MIN - Williams had his right arm in a sling in the locker room on Sunday after injuring his shoulder during the 3rd quarter vs. Arizona. He is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday. "I wouldn't know how to characterize it until we get back to Minneapolis," coach Brad Childress said. "I just know that he's a tough guy and if there's any chance he can be in there, he's going to be in there." Evaluations of Williams' injury are ongoing.
Defensive End
DE Brett Keisel - PIT - Keisel was sidelined on Sunday due to his injured knee (listed as out on Friday).
DE Brian Robison - MIN - Robison missed one game earlier this season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Dec. 2. Robison appeared to aggravate the injury in the 3rd quarter on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
DE Aaron Schobel - BUF - Schobel has been placed on season ending injured reserve. Schobel has not played in a game since Week 4 when he suffered a torn ligament in his left foot near the bottom of his big toe.
DE Justin Tuck - NYG - Tuck left for several plays after aggravating his shin injury during the game vs. Dallas - he's been playing through the ding for several weeks.
DE Kyle Vanden Bosch - TEN - Vanden Bosch was out on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday due to his groin injury).
Inside Linebacker
ILB Gary Brackett - IND - Brackett was sidelined on Sunday as expected after being listed as out on Friday (fibula injury).
ILB Tedy Bruschi - NE - Bruschi missed the game on Sunday as expected (knee injury, out).
ILB Bobby Carpenter - DAL - Carpenter was fitted for a brace on his right knee after the opening kickoff - he tweaked the joint during the special team's play. He did not return to action - Carpenter will be evaluated further as the week goes along.
ILB London Fletcher - WAS - Fletcher fought through a sprained foot to play on Sunday (as usual - he's started 133 straight games).
ILB Jonathan Goff - NYG - Goff was inactive on Sunday as expected due to his hamstring injury (listed as out on Friday).
ILB Danny Lansanah - GB - Lansanah was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report (upper arm, ankle injury).
ILB Spencer Larsen - DEN - Larsen was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (groin injury).
ILB Hilee Taylor - CAR - Taylor was inactive on Sunday after being listed as doubtful to play on Friday (calf injury).

OLB Gary Guyton - NE - Guyton started in place of the injured Tedy Bruschi, but he went down with an ankle injury in the 2nd quarter on Sunday and didn't return to action. Guyton will be evaluated further as the week goes along - in Guyton's absence, Junior Seau saw some game time.
OLB Clark Haggans - ARI - Haggans missed the game on Sunday as expected (foot injury, doubtful).
OLB Tyjuan Hagler - IND - Hagler was sidelined on Sunday as expected after being listed as out on Friday (knee injury).
OLB Eric Henderson - CIN - Henderson was placed on IR due to his neck injury - he's done for the season.
OLB Leroy Hill - SEA - Hill was inactive on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday (neck injury).
OLB Jarret Johnson - BAL - Johnson injured a calf vs. Pittsburgh, and his status for Saturday vs Dallas is uncertain as of Monday morning. Johnson will be evaluated further as the week moves along.
OLB Adam Seward - CAR - Seward was inactive on Sunday after being listed as doubtful to play on Friday (ankle injury).
OLB Daryl Smith - JAX - Smith left the game with a groin injury and did not return to action. His status for Thursday night's game against Indianapolis will be updated early in the week - further evaluations are ongoing.
OLB Jason Trusnik - NYJ - Trusnik was inactive on Sunday despite being listed as probable to play on Friday (knee injury).
OLB Marcus Washington - WAS - Washington was inactive on Sunday as expected (ankle, out on Friday).

CB Travis Fisher - DET - Fisher was briefly knocked out of the game after being shaken up - he did return to action, though.

CB Keith Smith - DET - Smith aggravated a groin injury early in the game vs. Indianapolis, and was unable to return to action. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
CB Fabian Washington - BAL - Washington pulled a hamstring on the final play of the 3rd quarter and did not return to action. He said afterwards it was too early to tell whether the injury would prevent him from playing Saturday night against the Dallas Cowboys. "It's sore right now," said Washington, "It just got tighter. If I don't have my hamstrings, that's my whole game - speed. And I felt like I'd be hurting more than helping." He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
Safety
S Jordan Babineaux - SEA - Babineaux suffered a concussion during the contest vs. St. Louis - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along and will need to pass the NFL's baseline test before returning to action.
S Atari Bigby - GB - Bigby was sidelined on Sunday as expected after being listed as out on Friday (shoulder injury).
S Dashon Goldson - SF - Goldson was inactive on Sunday despite being listed as probable to play on Friday (knee injury).
S Deon Grant - SEA - Grant suffered a stinger in the 1st quarter on Sunday, but returned later in that period and finished the contest - the injury isn't considered serious at this time.
S Clinton Hart - SD - Hart was sidelined on Sunday due to his injured shoulder (listed as doubtful on Friday).
S Chris Horton - WAS - Horton was sidelined on Sunday due to his injured shoulder (doubtful on Friday).

S Kenny Phillips - NYG - Phillips suffered a head injury that knocked him out of the game vs. Dallas - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
