Using SOS - Two-man Quarterback By Committees

Previously, we took a close look at using SOS to backup a stud QB. However, if you don't want to spend a high pick on a quarterback (or if you mistakenly miss out on them), you may turn to a quarterback by committee (QBBC). This article will focus on a two-player combo for your committee. First off, we'll eliminate the so-called stud quarterbacks (note that Vince Young is no longer considered a stud QB as his ADP has decreased since the first article was posted).

Now, let's identify the committee-worthy QBs. We'll exclude the QBs from Oakland, Minnesota, Cleveland, and Kansas City. In most of these cases, a starter hasn't been named (or a starter isn't clear-cut). In Minnesota, Tarvaris Jackson is not someone we want to rely upon as a vital part of our QBBC. That leaves us with the following QBs:

Finally, we'll use SOS to determine which duo forms the most desirable QBBC. Below you will see the top 50 combos ranked both by Projected Fantasy Points and by SOS. You will also see a column labeled "Pk Val". Basically, the smaller the number here, the cheaper the QBBC will be on draft day. The trick is to find a high-scoring combo that will be a relative bargain.

by that QBBC. This is found by starting the QB with the best combination of
fantasy points potential and SOS.
