Quarterback

Upgrade

QB Marc Bulger, STL - Bulger is expected to be available for this week's game against the Bengals. (But check the injury report later in the week, of course.)

QB Trent Edwards, BUF - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Trent Edwards was named the starter this week and played fairly well against an inspired Redskin defense. Edwards attempted 36 passes, completing 22, for 257 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions. He spread the ball to six different receivers. Five of those receivers had at least four receptions. The Buffalo Bills are now 6-6 and only one game out of the playoffs. The gameplan is conservative with Edwards under center, but it was a big win this week against the Redskins.

QB Tarvaris Jackson, MIN - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Tarvaris Jackson played very well against the Detroit Lions. The athletic second-year passer completed 18 of his 24 passes for 204 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception. He added 20 rushing yards on five carries. With San Francisco and Chicago next on the schedule, Jackson could be a decent spot starter for desperate fantasy owners. It was surprising to see Tarvaris complete 75% of his passes. He is not known as an efficient passer but benefits from the success of the running game playing well with Adrian Peterson back from injury.

QB Peyton Manning, IND - Don't look now, but Peyton has four TDs in each of his last two games. Manning only has two 300-yard passing games this year. Either he's due or it's just not his season for big yardage games. Either way, he is a must start every week. If you're a Manning owner, pull for Pittsburgh to keep their one game back from the Colts pace, because if Indy pulls away from the AFC's competition, they may rest their starters for week 17 and possibly week 16. Right now things seem to be fine, but we just wanted to make you aware.

QB Chris Redman, ATL - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Who? Chris Redman replaced an ineffective Joey Harrington and started the fourth quarter for Atlanta. He was very impressive in his one quarter of action passing for 172 yards and 2 TDs. The Falcons lost the game and now have 9 losses this season. Who starts at QB for Atlanta next week is anyone's guess, but the interesting wrinkle here is Byron Leftwich wasn't the one summoned to come into the game. At this point, we don't recommend starting Redman, but if you're in dire need of a QB, go ahead and pick him up, he may be next week's starter against the Saints and their poor pass defense.

QB Ben Roethlisberger, PIT - Roethlisberger performed well once again on a sloppy track, completing 21 of his 32 throws for 184 yards and two touchdowns. He also contributed with his legs, rushing six times for 13 yards and a six-yard touchdown against the Bengals in Week 13. Without Santonio Holmes and in adverse weather and field conditions, Roethlisberger did well to post the numbers he did with so many obstacles to overcome. Look for him to throw often against New England in a big matchup in Week 14.

QB Tony Romo, DAL - Romo was already high on the Top 250 list coming into Thursday's showdown with Green Bay, but you have to appreciate that he calmly played his game and put up very impressive numbers. Romo took what the defense gave him and hit the open receiver, connecting with Patrick Crayton twice, Terrell Owens (who should have had two) and TE Anthony Fasano. Romo finished with 309 yards and four scores and one interception, a ricochet off of Owens' hands in the end zone that seemed destined to be Romo's fifth touchdown pass. Romo is a must start through December, especially next week in Detroit.

QB Sage Rosenfels, HOU - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Matt Schaub was injured again and had to leave the game. A shoulder injury may keep him out for another week, if not more. If you own Schaub, grab Sage Rosenfels and start him if you were starting Schaub. Rosenfels was semi-effective against Tennessee passing for 185 yards and a TD. He found Andre Johnson for his lone TD pass.

QB JaMarcus Russell, OAK - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Russell moved ahead of Daunte Culpepper on the Raiders' depth chart, up to the number two spot behind Josh McCown. Russell saw his first NFL action yesterday and generally responded well, completing 4 of his 7 pass attempts for 56 yards. Russell should continue to get at least a handful of snaps each game, and a late-season start cannot be ruled out if he continues to play well.

QB Vinny Testaverde, CAR - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Testaverde led the Panthers to their first home win this season over the 49ers. Testaverde had 2 TDs and 2 INTs in this game, just like the last game he started. He is not the greatest option out there, but he is steady and he's the best option Carolina has at this time. The good news is, if he's healthy, he'll be the Panthers starting QB for the rest of the season.

QB Vince Young, TEN - Vince Young is peaking just in time for the playoff push. This is his 4th consecutive game of at least 246 yards passing. This week he had 248 passing yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT with 44 rushing yards. Young has been a great start recently and has no doubt helped his owners out who may have had QB issues from their first choice. Continue to start Young if you have been.

Downgrade

QB John Beck, MIA - John Beck turned the ball over five times against the New York Jets in week thirteen. He completed 23 of 39 passes for 177 yards and three interceptions. The rookie also fumbled three times, losing two, in the game. The Dolphins have very few offensive weapons for the former BYU star. With such a poor game against the Jets, not much can be expected from Beck at Buffalo next week.

QB Jason Campbell, WAS - Campbell struggled in Week 13 against Buffalo with just 216 yards and an interception. While he was able to complete more than half of his attempts (22 of 38), his low yardage and lack of touchdowns made the performance quite forgettable. To make matters worse Campbell was also apparently injured when he was hit on the knee, yet he refused medical attention after he walked off the field with a limp. Campbell did return on the next possession and played the rest of the way, but watch the injury report closely as the Redskins have a short week as Washington will be playing Chicago on Thursday.

QB Kellen Clemens, NYJ - Kellen Clemens completed just 15 of 24 passes for 236 yards, with one touchdown, one interception, and one lost fumble. The second-year pro added 14 rushing yards on three carries. The former Oregon Duck has yet to have more than one touchdown toss in a game. He now has four touchdowns compared to seven interceptions. With Jerricho Cotchery sidelined, there is little fantasy upside for the young passer.

QB Trent Dilfer, SF - Following a strong performance against the Cardinals in week twelve, Dilfer was terrible yesterday against the Panthers. He threw four interceptions and completed fewer than half of his passes, going 14 of 29 for 171 yards and two touchdowns. The 49ers have the worst offense in the league in terms of passing yards, total yards, and total points, so their QB position is not where fantasy owners want to look for help.

QB A.J. Feeley, PHI - It was deja vu all over again with Feeley starting Week 13 as he started Week 12 against the Patriots. Feeley's first pass of the game against Seattle was intercepted and returned for a touchdown, just like the opening drive of Week 12 versus New England. The Seahawks continued to pressure Feeley, but most of his mistakes were of his own volition. Feeley overlooked linebackers in coverage and threw right at them, resulting in four interceptions. He finished Week 13 with terrible statistics (19-42-220-1-4) and also ended any possibility of a quarterback controversy for the Eagles, who now hope that Donovan McNabb can play against the Giants next week.

QB Joey Harrington, ATL - The QB mess for the Falcons continued this week. Harrington was pulled at the beginning of the fourth quarter and was replaced by Chris Redman who nearly brought the Falcons back against the Rams. Redman passed for 172 yards and 2 TDs in one quarter of action. Who starts next week for Atlanta is up for grabs, but the likelihood that Harrington will be named starter is not looking good. Cut bait on Harrington. His value is falling like a rock.

QB Jon Kitna, DET - Jon Kitna had another poor outing in week thirteen. In what was supposed to be a great matchup against a porous pass defense, the former Bengal completed 27 of 36 passes for 260 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. The last three games have seen Kitna only throw one touchdown pass. With Dallas and San Diego next on the schedule, the veteran passer is not a good option at quarterback for fantasy owners. Finally, with Roy Williams likely out for four weeks, the potential for a big fantasy game will be diminished for Jon Kitna.

QB Eli Manning, NYG - Manning struggled during Week 13, opening the game with an interception. He looked dejected for most of the contest until he rallied the Giants for a late comeback. His numbers were less than stellar (16-27-195-1-2) and also had a fumble in Week 13 against the Bears. Manning now faces the Philadelphia Eagles with his best receiver (Plaxico Burress) struggling and issues with the health of his backfield. He is a tough option to rely on for your fantasy starter at quarterback, so look for another option until he shows he can perform better on a regular basis.

QB Matt Schaub, HOU - Schaub left the game with a shoulder injury after being sacked in the first quarter. He went to the locker room and returned to the field in street clothes. His status for next week is unknown, but the outlook is bleak. Sage Rosenfels replaced him and will be the starting QB if Schaub is unable to go.

QB Kurt Warner, ARI - Warner may be without Larry Fitzgerald (groin) and Anquan Boldin (toe) next week against the stout Seattle pass defense. While Warner generally looked sharp yesterday even with both receivers out (Fitzgerald was inactive; Boldin left in the third quarter), it was a subpar fantasy performance for him, as he threw for a season-low (as a starter) 169 yards. He did add two touchdowns, giving him his fourth consecutive multiple-touchdown game.

Holding steady

QB Derek Anderson, CLE - Anderson had a terrible start to Week 13, turning the ball over three times in the first half on two interceptions and a fumble, with one pick being returned by Arizona for a touchdown. He later regrouped and put up respectable numbers (21-41-304-2-2) and could have won the game on the last play of the game. Anderson threw deep to Kellen Winslow Jr. who was forced out of the end zone but was not given the benefit of the doubt for the score. Look for Anderson to put up better numbers when Cleveland visits the Jets in Week 14.

QB Drew Brees, NO - Brees passed for only 179 yards against Tampa Bay and he did not have a single receiver with more than 45 yards. We were expecting an off game from Brees against the strong Buccaneers defense, so don't look into this mediocre performance too much. Continue to play Brees as you were. He's a great start next week at Atlanta.

QB Brett Favre, GB - Brett Favre started slowly in the Thursday night game against the Cowboys. He was injured in the second quarter as his forearm hit a Cowboy helmet on his passing follow through. He has a forearm injury and a separated shoulder. Favre and Coach McCarthy think he will play next week against Oakland. Before leaving the game, the veteran passer only completed five of his 14 pass attempts for 56 yards and a pair of interceptions. Brett Favre was on pace to set many records this season. Favre is "holding steady" until we hear more on his availability against the Raiders.

QB Jeff Garcia, TB - Garcia was a game time decision this week against the Saints that resulted in him not seeing any action. Luke McCown started at QB for Tampa Bay and had a terrific game passing for 313 yards and 2 TDs. Garcia may be healthy enough to return from his bad back next week, but if he cannot, Luke McCown looks like a viable replacement.

QB David Garrard, JAX - In the loss to the Colts, Garrard passed for 257 yards with 2 TDs and one INT. He also threw his first INT of the season after 230 consecutive attempts without a misfire to the other team. Quite an impressive feat. Garrard now has two consecutive games of at least 250 yards passing. He's steady, but rarely a big gamer. Proceed as normal with Garrard.

QB Josh McCown, OAK - McCown threw three touchdowns in a game for the first time since 2004. He completed 14 of his 21 passes for 141 yards, three TDs, and no INTs. His solid performance should earn him the starting job in Oakland for the next several weeks, but JaMarcus Russell should continue to see action as well. While the Raiders do not currently plan to start Russell this year, their plans could change if Russell continues to play well in limited action, which detracts from McCown's fantasy value.

QB Luke McCown, TB - Luke McCown started for the injured Jeff Garcia against the Saints and had a great game passing for 313 yards and 2 TDs. McCown's favorite target was Joey Galloway - the two connected seven times for 159 yards. Garcia may be able to start next week at Houston, but if he's unable, Luke McCown looks to be a reliable replacement. If you are looking for a QB, McCown is a great pick up, but he's only valuable if Garcia is out.

QB Carson Palmer, CIN - Palmer had a terrible performance in Week 13 against the Steelers, completing just 17 of 44 passes for a season low 183 yards and no touchdowns. While the field and the weather were in bad shape, his accuracy was the main issue. It looked like Palmer was not sure of his footing and not stepping into his throws, which left many of his passes sailing high. Look for him to regroup and put up much better numbers against the Rams next week as Cincinnati starts a very favorable schedule stretch for the final weeks.

QB Aaron Rodgers, GB - Aaron Rodgers played well in relief of Brett Favre in the week thirteen matchup against the Cowboys. The third year pro finished the game completing 18 of his 26 pass attempts for 201 yards, with a touchdown pass. Rodgers gave Packer fans hope for the future with his poise under pressure and his ability to make plays. He was able to elude the rush several times. The former Cal star rushed five times for 30 yards. It is not yet known whether the gray-haired passer will be under center against the Raiders in week fourteen, but Rodgers showed that he is at minimum a top backup passer that can move the team when called upon. He, like Favre, is "holding steady" until we learn more about Favre's injury and his ability to play in week fourteen.

Running Back

Upgrade

RB Shaun Alexander, SEA - Alexander had a successful return to the Seahawks' lineup, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. He will have favorable matchups over the next two weeks, facing the Cardinals and the Panthers. Alexander showed acceleration to the outside on this touchdown run that he looked like he had been missing for much of the season.

RB Lorenzo Booker, MIA - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Lorenzo Booker was great out of the backfield on Sunday. He caught six of his seven pass targets for 63 yards and carried the ball once for six yards. These were the first touches on the season for the former Florida State Seminole. The winless Dolphins will look to evaluate its young talent during the last few weeks of the season. Fantasy owners, especially in PPR leagues, should expect to see more of Booker in the coming weeks. The rookie is extremely quick and offers the Dolphin offense some much-needed playmaking ability.

RB Chris Brown, TEN - Brown shared rushing duties with LenDale White this past week against the Texans. Both he and White had a rushing TD apiece and it looks like there could be a RBBC approach in the last four games of the season. Brown is the better pass-catching back among the two and he's showing he can also run the ball just as effectively. Slightly elevate Brown's status, while White's value takes a bit of a hit (especially with White's dislocated finger).

RB Correll Buckhalter, PHI - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Buckhalter was used a bit more than usual in Week 13 against Seattle, and the misdirection worked well for the Eagles. He broke off a 30 yard touchdown early in the contest, his longest run of the year, which highlighted his four carry, 37 yard day. Philadelphia does give him some work even with a healthy Westbrook, but the upside of his value would skyrocket if he had to replace Westbrook due to an injury.

RB Ron Dayne, HOU - Dayne continues to play well in Ahman Green's absence. Green was questionable all week until he was later determined to be inactive yet again. Dayne rushed for 86 yards with a TD run and he also added 25 yards receiving on three receptions. Dayne is a good flex start or RB3 going forward, but if Ahman Green is healthy enough to play, your best bet is to reserve a spot on the bench for Dayne.

RB Reuben Droughns, NYG - Droughns slid back down the depth chart this past week as Derrick Ward took over the primary RB position for the Giants. He was still utilized often for short yardage opportunities and did score a short touchdown on one of his 10 carries. He also lost another score due to a challenge from the Bears, which thwarted a one yard plunge into the end zone. Droughns' changed significantly late in the game when Ward reportedly broke a fibula. With Ward now lost for the season, Droughns is once again the starter for the Giants as long as Jacobs is sidelined.

RB Justin Fargas, OAK - Since taking over as the Raiders' starting RB in week 9, Fargas has been the #5 fantasy RB over the past five weeks. He had his second 20+ fantasy point game in a row yesterday as he rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries. His schedule toughens up over the remainder of the season, but he still should be a worthwhile fantasy starter.

RB Earnest Graham, TB - Graham continues his impressive play in the second half of the season. His 106-yard rushing performance this week against New Orleans marks his third 100-yard game in his last four games. He also had 7 receptions for 37 yards. Graham and the Bucs have a soft schedule the rest of the way (@HOU, ATL, @SF, CAR). Graham should continue to put up big points and could be the reason why your team wins your league's championship.

RB Ryan Grant, GB - Ryan Grant further solidified his hold on the starting job in the Thursday night game against the Cowboys. He was the only running back to carry the ball. Grant showed surprising speed, breaking a 62-yard run in the first half to keep the game close. He finished the game with 14 carries for 94 yards and two touchdown runs. In addition, he grabbed one pass for four yards. The ex-Giant has been the primary running back for six games. In that span, he accumulated 561 rushing yards and four rushing scores. Grant has added 101 receiving yards over the six games. With the Packers facing the Raiders, Rams, and Bears in the next three games, Grant has three great matchups.

RB Andre Hall, DEN - Hall missed yesterday's game because of the ankle injury he suffered the previous week. But he should be available this week. Meanwhile, Selvin Young was dinged yesterday and may not be at full strength this week, and Travis Henry is facing a possible suspension that could be announced this week.

RB Fred Jackson, BUF - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Fred Jackson started at running back for the Buffalo Bills in week thirteen with Lynch and Anthony Thomas out of action. He had played well in preseason, but still was an unknown for many fantasy football owners. Against the Redskins, Jackson carried the ball 16 times for 82 rushing yards, with long of 22 yards. He added four receptions, from six pass targets, for 69 yards, including a long of 54 yards. Thomas looks lost for the season with a torn calf muscle. Lynch may come back any week, but Jackson has earned some touches going forward.

RB Steven Jackson, STL - Since returning to the lineup in week 10, Jackson has been the #4 fantasy RB over the past four weeks. He had his best fantasy performance of the season yesterday, as he gained 167 yards from scrimmage and found the end zone on a 50-yard run in the fourth quarter.

RB Edgerrin James, ARI - James rushed for 114 yards on 24 carries yesterday, and still has a generally favorable schedule remaining: over the last four weeks of the season, he will face the Seahawks, the Saints, the Falcons, and the Rams. With the uncertain status of both Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald for next week's game, the Cardinals may rely more heavily than usual on the running game.

RB Jamal Lewis, CLE - Jamal Lewis had 16 carries for 62 yards in Week 13 against the Cardinals. He also caught three passes for 24 more yards and scored on a short throw in the second quarter where he hurdled a surprised Cardinal defender on the way to the end zone. Lewis left the game briefly with an arm injury in the first half but was able to return to action and finish the game, where he was limited only by the play calling which favored the passing game. Look for Lewis to add to his totals in a big way against the Jets in Week 14.

RB Jerious Norwood, ATL - It wasn't exactly a coming out party for Jerious Norwood, but he did manage to rush for 94 yards on only 8 carries. Norwood had a nice gain of 36 yards and averaged 11.75 yards per carry. Pretty impressive. He has always had a high yard-per-carry average, but the Falcons have not had enough leads to sustain him getting more carries. That and Warrick Dunn has been in his way. Norwood is an up and comer, but unfortunately the Falcons aren't helping matters by trailing most of the time.

RB Adrian Peterson, MIN - Adrian Peterson is finally back from his sprained knee injury. The Vikings split the load between Peterson and Chester Taylor. The sensational rookie from Oklahoma carried the ball 15 times for 116 yards, with a long of 28, and two highlight reel scoring runs. He added ten receiving yards on one catch. Peterson looked very strong and fully healed in the week thirteen game against the Detroit Lions. The rookie is a strong play the rest of the way and gets two great matchups the next two weeks, San Francisco and Chicago.

RB Adrian Peterson, CHI - Adrian Peterson stepped right in with Cedric Benson lost for the year. He carried the ball 22 times for 67 yards against the tough New York Giant defense. He was also the leading receiver on the team with seven receptions for 82 yards. With the Thursday game matchup against the Washington Redskins, the Bears will need their veteran back from Georgia Southern to carry the load for the Bear offense. Overall, fantasy owners must be happy with 149 yards from scrimmage against the Giant defense.

RB Fred Taylor, JAX - Taylor has three consecutive games of at least 85 yards rushing, including 100+ yards in his last two games. He is the Jaguars' first rushing option, and he's making good use of his chances. Continue to use Taylor as your RB3 or flex option.

RB LaDainian Tomlinson, SD - Tomlinson had one of his better performances of the season yesterday, rushing 23 times for 177 yards and two touchdowns against the Chiefs. Tomlinson is already a must-start every week, but it is nice to see him gathering some steam heading into the fantasy playoffs.

RB Leon Washington, NYJ - Leon Washington had a great game, scoring twice and touching the ball twelve times. His first score was on a direct snap. The Jets are finding ways to get the ball to their diminutive playmaker. In the game, he carried the ball ten times for 68 yards and caught two of his three targets for 35 more yards. Washington's two scoring runs were from 12 and 18 yards out. His longest reception was 35 yards. He is one of a very few offensive players capable of making big plays. Washington out gained Thomas Jones in total yards from scrimmage on half the touches, plus had twice as many touchdowns. Leon was averaging less than four carries a game coming into the week thirteen game.

RB Kenny Watson, CIN - If there was still any doubt, Week 11 should have answered the question as to which Bengals RB is the top cat. Watson had 17 touches (9-45 rushing, 8-50 receiving) and looked far more effective in the Cincinnati offense. Watson should remain the back of choice and get the bulk of the work going forward.

RB DeAngelo Williams, CAR - The Panthers decided to use Williams more in the second half against the 49ers and he did not disappoint, rushing for 82 yards on 17 carries. He also had 46 yards receiving on one play. At one time, the game announcer mentioned that Williams rushes for 10 yards or more in 20% of his carries, which leads all RBs in the NFL. That's a pretty impressive statistic. We're not sure why HC John Fox decided to go with Williams over DeShaun Foster in the second half, but it's looking like we may see more of Williams in the four remaining games in the season.

Downgrade

RB Joseph Addai, IND - Addai had only 67 yards rushing with zero receptions against the Jaguars. Don't worry about the mediocre performance, but do worry about next week's game at Baltimore. If you have better alternatives, you may want to start another RB with a better match up. Baltimore's defense is getting healthy and could very well pose a problem to the Colts running game, specifically Joseph Addai.

RB Reggie Bush, NO - Bush, who was questionable with a shin injury, also hurt his ankle in the game against Tampa Bay. As a result Bush only rushed for 64 yards and had only three receptions. As of right now, we don't think Bush will miss any time, but monitor his status this week.

RB Jesse Chatman, MIA - Jesse Chatman could not do much of anything against the New York Jets before leaving the game after aggravating his sprained ankle. He carried the ball eleven times for 26 yards, with a long of eight yards. The former Charger also added ten receiving yards on two receptions. This poor game comes on the heels of an eleven carry for 17 yards performance in the slop last Monday night and shows Chatman can't be started until he's completely healthy.

RB Najeh Davenport, PIT - Davenport was a last minute scratch from the lineup for the Steelers in Week 13. There are hints that it could be an injury or it could be disciplinary. Davenport has some legal issues as well, so watch for more news on him this week. He faces New England next so his upside in the short term is rather low regardless.

RB Warrick Dunn, ATL - We've said all along that Dunn is either up or he's down. This week he was down, carrying only 10 times for 17 yards. His soon-to-be replacement at RB, Jerious Norwood totaled 94 yards on just 8 carries. Dunn is getting closer to being done and he cannot be counted on to start every week. Having said that, he is still the Falcons first choice at RB and next week's opponent is New Orleans. Start at your own risk, but we would advise you to keep him on the bench, unless you have no other options.

RB Ahman Green, HOU - Green was ruled out once again for this week's game against Tennessee. Earlier in the week Green was expected to play against Tennessee, but apparently his knee is still giving him problems. This is not a good sign, but hopefully another week of rest will allow him to come back soon, possibly next week. Ron Dayne started in Green's absence and again did well.

RB Brandon Jackson, GB - Brandon Jackson was held without a carry against the Cowboys in week thirteen. The rookie from Nebraska looks to have permanently lost his starting running back job. The former second round pick is Ryan Grant's backup, but Grant has looked very good in the six games since taking over for the injured Wynn.

RB Brandon Jacobs, NYG - Jacobs was injured all this past week and did not even make the trip with the team to Chicago. Until he starts to practice with the team, look elsewhere for running back choices.

RB Rudi Johnson, CIN - If there was still any doubt, Week 11 should have answered the question as to which Bengals RB is the top cat. Rudi Johnson gets the short straw here as he had only nine touches (8-25 rushing, 1-2 receiving) and looked much less impressive than Kenny Watson. Johnson could still get some work, but expect most of the touches and opportunity to now rest with Watson.

RB Marshawn Lynch, BUF - Marshawn Lynch missed another game in week 13. He got a little practice in last week and should see more work this week. While HC Dick Jauron calls Lynch "day-to-day", we worry that the ankle injury will bother him even when he's healthy enough to see game action.

RB Maurice Morris, SEA - Morris' stat line from yesterday looked good -- 64 yards and a touchdown -- he got only 5 carries while to Shaun Alexander's 20. Alexander is again the Seahawks' featured RB, and Morris should see limited action over the remainder of the season as long as Alexander is healthy.

RB Willie Parker, PIT - "Fast Willie" was more like "Fumble Willie" in the rain and messy field in Week 13. Parker put four balls on the ground including two on consecutive plays and was fortunate enough to have instant replay overrule two of them. Parker did not learn that it was a bad idea to wear rubbery elbow pads in the rain -- apparently he did not watch Ahman Green on a wet Monday Night Football game when Green was in Green Bay. Parker also struggled to gain yardage when he did have the ball, accumulating just 87 yards on 28 carries. To add insult to injury, the Steelers did not give him many chances near the goal line as they opted to throw or have Roethlisberger run the ball himself, even though Najeh Davenport was out of the game. It does not appear that Pittsburgh trusts Parker in short yardage, and now they cannot trust him in bad weather either. Parker faces the Patriots next week so do not expect a ton of production.

RB Michael Pittman, TB - Pittman did make it back to the field, but it's pretty obvious that the Buccaneers are prepared to ride Earnest Graham into the ground. Pittman tallied only two catches and had zero carries in week 13. In order to be a viable fantasy option, Pittman needs Graham to miss action.

RB Clinton Portis, WAS - Portis rushed 25 times for just 50 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 13. He did add two catches for 10 yards, but his terrible yards per carry (2.0) against Buffalo is a concern. His low production was tempered by his finding of the end zone, where he was able to pay a tribute to his fallen teammate, Sean Taylor, by showing his image on his shirt beneath his jersey. Portis also left the game with a right leg injury, displaying a noticeable limp as he left the field. Ladell Betts played in relief of Portis, so be sure and check the injury reports before using him on a short week against Chicago this Thursday.

RB Derrick Ward, NYG - Ward reportedly has a broken fibula, which will end his season.

Holding steady

RB DeShaun Foster, CAR - Foster had 58 yards rushing with a TD and 35 yards receiving against the 49ers, but the Panthers decided to go with DeAngelo Williams more in the second half. Foster bounced back from a poor performance last week, like he always seems to do, but the emergence of DeAngelo Williams has us thinking that the Panthers may be looking to go with the hot hand from here on out to maximize as much offense as they can. We don't recommend starting Foster next week against Jacksonville, unless you're in a PPR league and have no better options.

RB Travis Henry, DEN - Henry was a bit rusty in his return performance yesterday, but he did find the end zone twice. Uncertainty about Henry's immediate future keeps him from being either an upgrade or a downgrade candidate. He could face a one-year suspension that may be announced this week. But until he is actually suspended, he should not be cut from your fantasy roster.

RB Kevin Jones, DET - Kevin Jones has been inconsistent, but had a poor game this week against the very tough Minnesota Viking run defense. This was after a good game on Thanksgiving against the Packers. In the week thirteen game against the Vikings, Jones carried the ball three times for a combined one yard. In addition, he hauled in three passes for 16 yards. The game was out of reach late in the first half so there was no real need to get the former Hokie more touches. Expectations were not high for Kevin Jones this week, but the production was worse than many anticipated.

RB Thomas Jones, NYJ - Thomas Jones had his first touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter of the week thirteen against the winless Miami Dolphins. But, his 75 rushing yards on 24 carries left much to be desired. The former Bear added 25 receiving yards catching his only pass target of the game. He has Cleveland and New England next up on the schedule. Jones watched as Leon Washington scored twice in the Dolphin game, and had twelve touches. The Jets used Washington throughout the game and the workload could be split some going forward.

RB Maurice Jones-Drew, JAX - Maurice Jones-Drew is the AFC version of Marion Barber. He's the second option in the running game, yet he's the more talented back that also has a strong knack for finding the end zone. MJD has scored a TD in four consecutive games after his two-yard TD run in the second quarter against Indianapolis. Jones-Drew has just two games this season with 15 carries or more. He definitely makes the most of his opportunities and he's on an offense that finds ways to get him the ball in scoring chances. Continue to start him with confidence, because he's too talented to keep on the bench.

RB Kolby Smith, KC - Smith followed his sensational game against the Raiders with a quietly impressive game against the Chargers, rushing 21 times for 83 yards. While he failed to get into the end zone, he averaged four yards a carry on a full workload against a stout run defense. Looking ahead on his schedule, Smith has a nice week 16 matchup (the championship game in many fantasy leagues) against the Detroit Lions. (Assuming Larry Johnson does not return by then.)

RB LenDale White, TEN - LenDale White is not quite in danger of losing his #1 RB role for Tennessee, but Chris Brown is breathing down his neck for playing time. This past week against Houston, both he and Brown scored rushing TDs and there could be a RBBC approach for the Titans down the stretch. We're not downgrading White here, because he's still producing, but if Brown catches lightning in a bottle with a few strong carries or impressive possessions, White could find himself the odd man out.

Wide Receiver

Upgrade

WR Arnaz Battle, SF - Battle is the clear number one receiver on the 49ers, and yesterday marked his second consecutive game with 50+ yards and a touchdown. Battle has more than twice as many fantasy points on the season as teammate Darrell Jackson.

WR Nate Burleson, SEA - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Burleson is the beneficiary when D.J. Hackett is out of the lineup, and Hackett is expected to miss at least one more game with a high ankle sprain. Burleson had 4 catches for 71 yards and a touchdown yesterday, and has a nice matchup next week against the Arizona Cardinals.

WR Laveranues Coles, NYJ - Laveranues Coles is finally back from his ankle injury. The Jets needed to get the former Florida State star back in the lineup with the finger surgery to Jerricho Cotchery. Coles caught five of his seven targets for 69 yards against the Dolphins. With a great matchup against the Cleveland Browns in week fourteen, Coles should be in fantasy lineups next week.

WR Patrick Crayton, DAL - Crayton returned to the lineup as the starter in Week 13 and showed no signs of his prior ankle injury. He had just three catches, but they were all big plays for Dallas against the Packers. Crayton caught two short touchdown catches that sandwiched a long gainer that accounted for most of his 42 yards. Crayton now has seven touchdowns this season and appears to be a favorable end zone target for Tony Romo. He becomes a solid start going forward, beginning next week in Detroit.

WR Kevin Curtis, PHI - Curtis reeled in six catches against the Seahawks for 111 yards and a touchdown, breaking the 100 yard barrier for the third time this season. He continues to be the deep threat for Philadelphia, this time using his quickness to slip past the defense for a 47 yard touchdown. He is a risky fantasy option as he is often hit or miss on a weekly basis, but he is on a pace for over 1,200 yards receiving for the year. He faces the Giants in Week 14 which could be a nice matchup if they cannot get all of their secondary healthy by Sunday.

WR Donald Driver, GB - Donald Driver now has enjoyed a few good games in a row. For the most part, the Cowboys held the veteran receiver in check on Thursday evening. He was targeted deep a couple of times early in the game. But, even though Dallas was focused on containing the former Alcorn State star, he still managed seven receptions for 66 yards, most coming in the second half with Aaron Rodgers under center. His longest reception was 17 yards. On the season, Driver has caught 70 of his 102 targets for 898 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Packers are looking to Donald Driver when they need a clutch reception. Catching almost 70% of his pass targets is an amazing statistic considering that Driver is targeted deep a few times most every game.

WR Braylon Edwards, CLE - Edwards had a fantastic day with seven catches, 149 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against the Cardinals despite missing practice all week with a hamstring issue. He set a career high for yardage and added his 12th touchdown for the year, adding to his Pro Bowl caliber numbers. Look for Edwards to have another good game in Week 14 against the Jets.

WR Mike Furrey, DET - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Mike Furrey benefits now that Roy Williams is expected to miss four weeks. Since the Lions are not running four-receiver sets like they did early in the season, Furrey has been the most effected. The former Ram hauled in seven Jon Kitna passes for 57 yards. With Calvin Johnson disappointing, Furrey could even see his numbers rise to 2006 levels.

WR Justin Gage, TEN - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Chalk up another impressive game for Justin Gage, who is looking like Vince Young's go-to WR. Gage finished with five receptions for 64 yards including an 11-yard third quarter red zone TD catch. Gage has at least 50 yards receiving in each of his last four games. He has been a nice surprise over that same time span. Continue to start Gage as your WR4 or flex. The connection is definitely there between him and Vince Young.

WR Joey Galloway, TB - Galloway had his best game of the season catching 7 passes for 159 yards against the Saints. He came just inches of scoring on a 60-yard pass play and some believe he should have been given the TD. Galloway had a great connection with backup QB Luke McCown and if Jeff Garcia is out again next week, look for more of the same.

WR Torry Holt, STL - Holt scorched the Falcons' secondary yesterday, catching 6 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown. The knee injury that slowed him during the first part of the season has been a complete non-factor over the past five weeks, as he's gone over the 100-yard mark three times and has caught three TDs during that span. Holt should have a good game against the Bengals this week.

WR Greg Jennings, GB - Greg Jennings is scoring well for fantasy owners - the second year pro has as many scoring grabs as games played - ten. He caught five passes in the Cowboy game, totaling 87 yards and a touchdown from Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter. On the season, the former Western Michigan star has 44 catches for 712 yards and the ten scores. Those numbers illustrate the how the Packers rely on Jennings to make plays. He is averaging over 16 yards per catch, and he is second on the team in targets, averaging 6.9 per game. Many of his touchdown grabs have been from inside the five-yard line.

WR Andre Johnson, HOU - After an poor game last week, Johnson returned to form against the Titans catching 9 passes for 116 yards including a TD reception of 28 yards in the fourth quarter. Johnson has played in five games this year and he has 100+ yards in four of them with a total of five TDs. Yeah, he's good. Continue to start him in all formats, regardless of who's at QB.

WR Bryant Johnson, ARI - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - With the status of both Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin for this week's game uncertain, Bryant Johnson may be the de facto number one receiver for the Cardinals against the Seahawks. Johnson had his best game of the season yesterday, catching 6 passes for 56 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. He was effective on short and medium-range patterns and fought through a double-team on his touchdown reception.

WR Joe Jurevicius, CLE - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Jurevicius just consistently puts up numbers, week after week, as a possession receiver for the Browns. He caught four balls for 44 yards in Week 13 against Arizona, the sixth consecutive time he has had at least four receptions. If you need depth at wide receiver, Jurevicius is a good option.

WR Shaun McDonald, DET - Shaun McDonald had overtaken Mike Furrey for the third receiver position for the Detroit Lions. With the knee injury to Roy Williams, the former Ram will see more pass targets for the fantasy playoff games (since Williams will miss four weeks). In the week thirteen game, McDonald caught six passes for 54 yards.

WR Terrell Owens, DAL - Owens shines in the big games, and none was bigger this week than Dallas against Green Bay. Owens delivered seven catches for 156 yards and a score in Week 13, but truth be told he should have had two touchdowns. He juggled away a second catch in the end zone that resulted in Tony Romo's lone interception for the game. Despite the blemish, he did get his sixth 100+ yard game for the season. Owens will be a stud the rest of the season, starting next week in Detroit.

WR Sidney Rice, MIN - Sidney Rice caught five passes for 53 yards and a great touchdown grab in week thirteen against the Detroit Lions. The rookie from South Carolina made a leaping catch in the corner of the endzone. This comes after his game last week where he had 82 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rice is getting in rhythm with quarterback Tarvaris Jackson and is gaining in confidence.

WR Steve Smith, CAR - Smith was used often in the game against San Francisco. He finished with 8 catches for 64 yards, but he also added 21 yards rushing on two runs where he was lined up at the QB position. It's pretty clear that Carolina wants to use Smith as much as possible and with Vinny Testaverde at QB, they have that luxury. Continue to play Smith, provided Testaverde is healthy.

WR Amani Toomer, NYG - The veteran wide receiver continues to contribute for the Giants. Toomer collected six catches for 69 yards and a touchdown, which was a great catch off of the grass that withstood an instant replay review. Given how Plaxico Burress is less than full strength and struggling to put up numbers, Toomer's production is a welcome portion of the New York offense. Adding to this is that Toomer is a notorious Eagle killer, which happens to be the next opponent for the Giants.

WR Hines Ward, PIT - Hines Ward caught 11 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns in the Steelers Week 13 win over the Bengals. He had 16 targets, by far the most for the Steelers. He directly benefited by the absence of Santonio Holmes and was the go to receiver for Roethlisberger. Ward did not stretch the field, but he did move the chains on a wet and muddy night. Expect Ward to get a lot of work next week against the Patriots.

WR Reggie Wayne, IND - The Colts and Peyton Manning are relying heavily on Reggie Wayne with Marvin Harrison still out and Wayne is doing all he can to keep the balls coming his way. This week against Jacksonville, Wayne had 8 receptions for 158 yards, including a 48-yard TD in the first quarter. Wayne is one the games most reliable fantasy WRs. He now has five games of 100+ yards receiving and has scored at least one TD in seven games this season. Continue to start Wayne in all formats.

WR Roddy White, ATL - Roddy White is improving every week it seems. This week against the Rams he caught 10 passes for 149 yards including a red zone TD pass for 15 yards. That was his fourth 100-yard game and his fourth TD this season. He's only 77 yards shy of reaching 1000 yards on the season. White is quickly becoming a very dependable WR for your fantasy team. Start him if you've got him, especially next week against a suspect Saints pass defense.

WR Roydell Williams, TEN - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Williams led the Titans in receiving yards against Houston with 74 yards on five receptions, including a 43-yard TD catch in the third quarter. Williams has six games this year with at least four receptions. Justin Gage appears to be Vince Young's favorite target of late, but Williams is making a nice claim to be his WR2. Consider adding Williams if you are in desperate need of a WR.

Downgrade

WR Anquan Boldin, ARI - Boldin left yesterday's game in the third quarter with a dislocated toe. His status for this week's game against the Seahawks is uncertain.

WR Reggie Brown, PHI - With A.J. Feeley struggling and Kevin Curtis getting most of the work, Brown's numbers suffered greatly against Seattle in Week 13. Brown only had two catches for 26 yards, making the fifth time in a row that Brown has been held under 60 yards. Until he proves otherwise and Donovan McNabb returns, consider other options for your wide receivers.

WR Plaxico Burress, NYG - Plaxico Burress continues to struggle with his injuries. He is a gamer and is trying to play through it, but it is apparent that he is not the same receiver he once was back in September. Burress had just three catches for 36 yards in Week 13 against the Bears despite numerous targets and is no longer a must start receiver.

WR Drew Carter, CAR - Carter had a few good games here and there, but this past week, Carter only had 2 catches for 15 yards against the 49ers. He is too inconsistent to warrant a start.

WR Jerricho Cotchery, NYJ - Jerricho Cotchery missed the week thirteen game against the Miami Dolphins and might be gone for the season. He reportedly has a broken right index finger that required surgery last week. Kellen Clemens and the Jets' offense will miss Cotchery. On the season, Jerricho has 54 catches for 730 yards and one touchdown grab. We do not recommend dropping Cotchery until he is placed on injured reserve.

WR Lee Evans, BUF - There are a couple of reasons Evans is getting the downgrade. First, the Bills have struggled with the deep ball this season and that has weakened Evans' numbers. Also, Evans has not produced many good games with Trent Edwards under center. In week thirteen, the former Wisconsin Badger caught four of his eight targets for 51 yards. It has been several weeks since Evans had a good fantasy game, and he only has five games with at least five fantasy points. It has been a disappointing season for Lee Evans, and there doesn't seem to be a reason to expect that to change.

WR Larry Fitzgerald, ARI - Fitzgerald was inactive yesterday due to a lingering groin injury, and his status for this week's game against the Seahawks is uncertain.

WR Marvin Harrison, IND - So much for the notion that Harrison might return for the big game against Jacksonville. He was again inactive and news is coming in that he will continue to be inactive unless his doctors can convince him that he won't suffer any setbacks if and when he decides to play. If the playoffs were next week, there's no doubt that we would see him on the field, but that's not the case and it's not looking good for any fantasy production right now.

WR Santonio Holmes, PIT - Holmes was unable to play in Week 13, and the Steelers hope he can go next week against the Patriots. Should he recover from his ankle injury enough to be active next week he could see a lot of action against New England.

WR Darrell Jackson, SF - Jackson has caught only 29 of his 77 targets this year. He is the WR2 in the league's worst passing offense and has almost no fantasy value in redraft leagues.

WR Calvin Johnson, DET - Calvin Johnson was held in check by a Vikings defense that struggles against the pass. He caught just one pass for 17 yards. This is after the Thanksgiving Day game where the rookie was very involved in the offense. As with most rookie receivers, his fantasy production will be inconsistent. One of the most disappointing aspects of the game in week thirteen was that Johnson was not used more after Roy Williams went out of the game with the knee injury.

WR James Jones, GB - James Jones started the season strong. As of late, though, he has struggled to produce fantasy points. At this point, the rookie is difficult to start unless in very large or deep leagues. Jones has not scored a touchdown since week eight. Against the Cowboys, he had another three-catch game. He was targeted seven times for those three receptions, but totaled only 39 yards. On the season, Jones has accumulated 43 catches, on 70 targets, for 633 yards and a pair of scores. Most of this production came in the first few weeks while Greg Jennings was injured and Koren Robinson was suspended.

WR Antwaan Randle El, WAS - Antwaan Randle El was sidelined in Week 13 with a hamstring injury. He missed the game against Buffalo.

WR Javon Walker, DEN - Walker has "played" in two straight games, but it's pretty obvious he is not in game shape right now. It may take a couple more weeks (or until next season) before he's a viable fantasy WR.

WR Kevin Walter, HOU - Kevin Walter's fantasy value is taking a plunge with Andre Johnson getting all of the looks. This past week he had only one catch for 11 yards. Unless the match up is a favorable one, don't risk starting Walter unless he's your only option.

WR Roy Williams, DET - Roy Williams left the week thirteen game against the Vikings in the second quarter with a knee injury. He was wearing street clothes after the halftime intermission. Williams had already been a disappointment this season and will miss four weeks with the injury.

Holding steady

WR Marques Colston, NO - Marques Colston had only 39 yards on two receptions in the loss to the Buccaneers. What's equally as troubling is that he only had those two targets. One of his catches went for 40 yards, while the other was -1 yards. We're calling this a dud game for Colston. In other words, we don't expect to see a similar result any time soon. Continue to start Colston. Next week at Atlanta should bring his stats back to normal.

WR Anthony Gonzalez, IND - We thought Anthony Gonzalez would build on his 100-yard game last week, but he managed only 22 yards on one reception this past week against Jacksonville. Peyton Manning only had completions to five different receivers and four if you don't count Luke Lawton and his one catch for one yard that went for a TD. While Gonzalez has all the opportunity to succeed, temper your expectations with him next week. He may still breakout with another strong game, but don't rely on it.

WR Devery Henderson, NO - Henderson had a 45-yard TD catch as his only reception of the game this past week against Tampa Bay. Henderson is too inconsistent to start all the time, but next week's match up against Atlanta is just enough to consider him as your WR4 or flex starter.

WR Chris Henry, CIN - Chris Henry had just two catches against Pittsburgh for 31 yards in Week 13. He should have had another touchdown in the fourth quarter but was not able to stay in bounds at the back corner of the end zone. Expect Henry and the Bengals to put up better numbers the rest of the way, starting next week with a great matchup against the Rams.

WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, CIN - Houshmandzadeh caught five balls for 42 yards in Week 13 against Pittsburgh in the rain and mud, but he could have had much more. He dropped several balls including one in the end zone and was also overthrown several times by an inaccurate Carson Palmer. He lost his cool down the stretch and was seen on the bench for the final drive of the game. Expect Houshmandzadeh to regroup and put up good numbers the rest of the way as the Bengals start a great schedule run next week against the Rams.

WR Chad Johnson, CIN - Johnson was able to haul in six passes for 86 yards in Week 13 against Pittsburgh on a bad field and in the rain. Carson Palmer had a bad night as well, so hold tight with Johnson. Expect him and the Bengals to rebound nicely and put up much better numbers against the Rams next week as Cincinnati starts a very favorable schedule stretch for the final weeks.

WR Reggie Williams, JAX - Williams leads all Jaguars WRs with 6 TDs this season, but he failed to find the end zone against the Colts. He does have four games of at least 50 yards receiving in his last five games. We like Reggie Williams and his consistency. He's not a bad option at all as your WR4 or flex.

Tight End

Upgrade

TE Dallas Clark, IND - Peyton Manning connected with Clark on two TDs, including one that was a shovel pass at the five yard line. He finished with seven catches for 60 yards and two TDs. Clark has nine TDs this year and has a firm grasp on finishing in the fantasy top 5 among TEs. He remains a must start every week.

TE Desmond Clark, CHI - Desmond Clark had a great game against the New York Giants. He caught five passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. The veteran tight end now has two straight games over 60 receiving yards. He now has 38 catches for 490 yards and three scoring grabs. With road games against Washington and Minnesota, Clark makes a good fantasy tight end the next two weeks.

TE Chris Cooley, WAS - Cooley continued his hot streak of late by catching seven balls for 89 yards against Buffalo in Week 13. While he did not find the end zone, he did put up a solid performance that should continue into the next game on Thursday against Chicago. Considering how thin the Redskins are at wide receiver, Cooley should remain a primary target for Jason Campbell in the Washington passing game going forward.

TE Alge Crumpler, ATL - Just when you've given up on Alge Crumpler as a viable TE on your roster, he turns in an impressive performance - his best game of the year, seven catches for 65 yards (both season highs). Crumpler's ineffectiveness was due mainly to his injuries, but it's looking like those are in the past now. We don't think he's going to do this every week, but at least there's some spark.

TE Tony Gonzalez, KC - Gonzalez far outshined Antonio Gates on Sunday, catching 10 passes for 140 yards against the Chargers. Damon Huard was locked onto Gonzalez all day, and Gonzalez responded by catching nearly everything thrown his way, including several balls in heavy traffic.

TE Marcedes Lewis, JAX - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Lewis has five receptions and at least 40 yards in each of his last two games. He is starting to come on as the Jaguars main TE threat. Consider him as a possible waiver wire claim, especially with his match up against the Panthers next week, who historically have been known to give up big yards to opposing TEs.

TE Zach Miller, OAK - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Miller had his fifth consecutive game with at last four targets yesterday, and added his second touchdown of the season. He finished with 3 catches for 58 yards and a TD, and should be considered a decent fantasy option in a pinch going forward.

TE Bo Scaife, TEN - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Scaife finished with 57 yards on four receptions against the Texans. He is not a bad TE option if you're looking for someone to replace your normal TE that may be out with an injury. Scaife has 22 receptions in his last five games, which is also when Vince Young started to air it out more. While Scaife may not score a TD (he has only one TD this season) he is a good bet to reach 30 yards. He has seven games of 30 yards receiving or more, including each of his last five games.

Downgrade

TE Antonio Gates, SD - Gates is still a must-start every week, but yesterday marked the worst fantasy performance in his career as he caught one pass for negative one yard. Over the first half of the season Gates had been a steady performer each week, but over the second half (since Chris Chambers joined the team, providing the Chargers with another go-to receiver) he has been hit or miss. Yesterday was a miss.

TE Eric Johnson, NO - Johnson continues to fall in value as a fantasy TE. He is not productive enough to roster.

TE Billy Miller, NO - Perhaps Billy Miller was the new face among Saints TEs? He had a few good games here and there, but after his one catch for 6 yards game against Tampa Bay, it's not looking like any TE on the Saints is worth having, let alone starting.

TE Greg Olsen, CHI - Greg Olsen misses Brian Griese in the lineup. In the last two weeks combined, the rookie has three receptions for 17 yards. Two of those receptions for seven yards were in the week thirteen game. The former Hurricane is still learning the position and trying to overtake veteran tight end Desmond Clark, who had a great game Sunday.

TE Jeremy Shockey, NYG - Shockey had only two catches and 25 yards against Chicago in Week 13, a very quiet performance. With Plaxico Burress hobbled, teams are covering Shockey much tighter and Eli Manning has been forcing it towards Shockey of late, leading to interceptions. Shockey may struggle next week as well with Philadelphia, who does well against tight ends. If you have another capable starter, consider using him instead in Week 14.

TE Alex Smith, TB - Smith, who had a few good games recently had only 11 yards on one reception this past week against New Orleans. He's too inconsistent right now to warrant starting.

Holding steady

TE Owen Daniels, HOU - Daniels only managed 42 yards on three receptions in the loss to the Titans. That's low for his standards. Daniels has been very consistent this season. Continue to start him if he's on your roster.

TE Kellen Winslow Jr, CLE - Winslow only recorded three catches for 35 yards in Week 13 against the Cardinals, but he made his best catch on a reception that did not count. He leaped up between two defenders to catch a ball on the final play of the game in the front left corner of the end zone but landed just out of bounds thanks to his being forced out by an Arizona defender. The officials did not give him the benefit of the doubt so Winslow was held scoreless, and this was his worst statistical performance this season as a result. Hang tight and expect him to bounce back in a big way next week against the Jets.

Kicker

Upgrade

PK Kris Brown, HOU - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Brown kicked two more FGs, including a 50-yarder, giving him 24 FGs for the year. Brown is a perfect 5 of 5 from 50+ yards this season.

PK Mason Crosby, GB - Mason Crosby has 15 field goal attempts in the last five games. With an average of three attempts per game, fantasy owners should be ecstatic. Crosby owners need to monitor the Favre injury situation. Brett Favre is leading the offense to many opportunities to score. In the week thirteen game against the Dallas Cowboys, Crosby hit both field goal attempts and all three extra points. He had a long of 52 yards for leagues that give extra points for long field goals. With the Raiders on the schedule next week, and Favre expected back, Crosby is expected to have a good game.

PK Nick Folk, DAL - Folk has not been asked to do too much this season in his rookie campaign, so it is good to note that when the situation arises that he can make the clutch kicks. Folk hit all of his extra points (four) and field goals (three), including a long of 51 yards and another late in the contest to put Dallas up by 10 and close the door on Green Bay. If defenses stiffen in the red zone, Folk is a solid kicker option the rest of the season.

PK Robbie Gould, CHI - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Robbie Gould has made all three of his field goal opportunities each of the last three weeks. Fantasy owners should be happy getting three field goals every game. Against the Giants in week thirteen, Gould connected from 35, 41, and 46 yards and made the one extra point attempt. The former Penn State Nittany Lion now has eclipsed ten fantasy points the last three weeks.

PK Rian Lindell, BUF - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Rian Lindell made all five field goal attempts against the Washington Redskins. His long on the day was from 43 yards. This huge game comes after three games where Lindell only had two field goal attempts combined. He had only made 15 field goals in the first eleven games. With Trent Edwards under center for the Bills, and Lynch sidelined with injury, there should be more field goal opportunities for Rian Lindell.

PK Shaun Suisham, WAS - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - The Redskins kicker made all of his Week 13 kicks, including three short field goals (27, 28, 33 yards) to go along with his extra point. Kickers that score 10 points in a week hold value, and if Washington struggles to punch it in, Suisham is a nice backup plan to get on the scoreboard.

Downgrade

PK David Akers, PHI - David Akers simply isn't scoring very much these days. Over the last four games, he has totaled 18 points. Plus, his accuracy has been a little off lately as he has missed two of his four FG tries over that span.

Team Defense

Upgrade

TD Dallas Cowboys, DAL - In a huge game for the season, Dallas' defense stepped it up against Green Bay. The Cowboys held a very good Packer offense to 27 points and forced two interceptions and three sacks. The pressure they put on Brett Favre in the pocket was there all of the first half and the secondary also held up well against the deep pass. Aside from giving up a long rushing touchdown, the Cowboys did well and face lesser opponents the rest of the year, starting with Detroit in Week 14.

TD Carolina Panthers, CAR - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - Don't look now, but Carolina's defense is on a roll. The Panthers registered six sacks against 49ers, giving them just 16 for the year. They also had seven turnovers (4 INTs and 3 FRs) including an INT for a TD by Richard Marshall.

TD Washington Redskins, WAS - *** POTENTIAL WAIVER WIRE GEM *** - The Redskins started the game with just 10 men in tribute to Sean Taylor, but they played as if they had 12 on the field the rest of the way. Washington held Buffalo to five field goals and no touchdowns and they face two struggling teams (Chicago, New York Giants) who turn the ball over a lot in the next two weeks. If you are in need of a team defense, consider the Redskins.

TD Tennessee Titans, TEN - Without DT Albert Haynesworth, who was out with a hamstring injury, the Titans were 0-3. With him they are 7-2, including this week's win against Houston, which snapped the three game losing skid.

TD Minnesota Vikings, MIN - The Minnesota Viking defense could be back. Plus, with the rookie Allison playing well as a kick returner, the Viking fantasy defense could be a force down the stretch for fantasy owners. The Vikings held the potent Lion offense to 10 points. They sacked Jon Kitna three times, intercepted Kitna once and recovered one fumble. The Vikings are a great fantasy defense the next two weeks against San Francisco and Chicago. Both opponents have serious question marks at the quarterback position.

Downgrade

Holding steady

TD Green Bay Packers, GB - The Green Bay Packer defense is holding steady this week after a tough matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers yielded 37 points and did not sack Tony Romo once. Further, the only turnover was an interception. The Packers were missing KGB and Woodson, which made matters worse. With the matchup against the Raiders next week, the Packer defense should rebound nicely.
