Week 8 Early Injury Report

Quarterback
QB Jeff Garcia - TB - Garcia was seen wearing a wrap around his right hand following the team's Week 7 game. When questioned about it, Garcia said he was fine - but fantasy owners with Garcia rostered will want to monitor his practice situation/official injury status later this week.
QB Trent Green - MIA - Green was advised to take a prolonged rest after his latest grade 3 concussion, and has been placed on IR by the Dolphins.
QB Matt Hasselbeck - SEA - Hasselbeck injured his rib muscles during the first half of the team's Week 7 game. He remained in the game - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along, but initially this doesn't look like a serious injury. "I think it's a great thing. Actually I'm kind of excited," Hasselbeck said after the game. "They told me I tweaked my oblique, which is awesome because I didn't know I had any obliques."
QB Tarvaris Jackson - MIN - Jackson has an avulsion fracture of the middle finger on his right hand, suffered midway through yesterday's loss at Dallas. The finger is sore and swollen, coach Brad Childress said, and medical officials will evaluate it after a throwing session Tuesday before deciding Jackson's status for Sunday's game against Philadelphia. Kelly Holcomb is Jackson's backup and may be starting this week, depending on how Jackson throws on Tuesday.
QB Byron Leftwich - ATL - Leftwich suffered what is initially diagnosed as a high ankle injury during the game on Sunday - an MRI is scheduled for Monday. Initial reports were that he might miss 2-4 weeks. He was very frustrated talking about his ankle, "Right now it's at the point where I'll know more tomorrow. We'll know more tomorrow. I didn't really hear what ... we'll know more tomorrow. It's just frustrating, man. ... I can't do this."
QB Josh McCown - OAK - McCown's ongoing foot/toe woes sidelined him again on Sunday (listed as doubtful on Friday).
QB Steve McNair - BAL - McNair's sore back kept him on the sidelines this week (he was active but did not play in the game vs. Buffalo).
QB Tony Romo - DAL - Romo suffered a bruised / strained hamstring in Sunday's game and limped on the field but was able to play through it. "Someone told me I got kicked. It was just boom! and that thing hurt. Somebody said it might be just a bruise or something. It hurt a lot when I went down and I couldn't put any weight on it or anything." He kept playing though and said he doesn't expect it to be an issue.
QB Matt Schaub - HOU - HC Gary Kubiak said on Sunday that quarterback Matt Schaub is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on his hip, after sustaining an injury during the team's game vs. Tennessee.
QB Alex Smith - SF - Smith was inactive on Sunday after being listed as probable on Friday (nagging right shoulder injury).
QB Kurt Warner - ARI - Warner played through his injured elbow ligaments and managed 27/41 for 282 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions - he wore a special brace and took almost every snap throughout the game (although Tim Rattay did throw a 1-yard TD to Leonard Pope). Warner looks like he can play effectively despite the injury.
QB Vince Young - TEN - Young was active but did not play on Sunday due to his sore quadriceps - the Titans pulled out a "W" in the waning seconds of the game without him under center.
Running Back
RB Cedric Benson - CHI - Benson commented to reporters after the game that he banged up his knee Sunday, contributing to Adrian Peterson's increased role during the second half. "I just planted wrong, a little hyperextension," Benson stated regarding his sore knee. "I don't know what play it was; sometime early in the second quarter. The ground was soggy out there. Just a bad plant."
RB Chris Brown - TEN - Brown was inactive on Sunday due to his injured ankle (listed as questionable on Friday's injury report).
RB Ronnie Brown - MIA - Brown was forced out of the game on Sunday due to a right knee injury. An MRI is scheduled for Monday and further evaluations of the nature and severity of the injury are ongoing. Reports on Monday afternoon out of Miami indicate that the MRI revealed enough damage to cause Brown to miss the rest of the season - coach Cam Cameron will address the severity and nature of the injury(ies) in his afternoon press conference.
RB Rock Cartwright - WAS - Cartwright injured his quadriceps during the team's Week 7 game - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
RB Frank Gore - SF - Gore hurt his right ankle in the game against the New York Giants but remained in the game. After the game, he was limping noticeably but said he'd probably play against New Orleans. "I'm looking forward to playing," he said. "I'll take it day by day. I'll see Wednesday or Thursday."
RB Ahmard Hall - TEN - Hall broke his arm during the team's Week 7 game, and head coach Jeff Fisher said that Hall will undergo surgery in the coming days to repair the damage. He'll be out an extended (but indefinite) period of time due to this injury.
RB Travis Henry - DEN - Henry was forced from the team's Week 7 game in the third quarter after suffering bruised ribs. He did not return to action, and will be evaluated further as the week goes along. "I fell on it wrong," Henry said after the game, "I think I'll be all right."
RB Steven Jackson - STL - Jackson missed the game on Sunday as expected (groin, out on Friday's injury report).
RB Brandon Jacobs - NYG - According to coach Coughlin, Jacobs' ankle is "fine. No worse than he was a week ago. He's got a little bit of an ankle issue that we deal with during the week, and he's able to play on Sunday."
RB Rudi Johnson - CIN - Johnson missed the game on Sunday as expected (listed as doubtful on Friday due to his injured hamstring).
RB Corey McIntyre - ATL - McIntyre missed the game on Sunday due to his injured hamstring (listed as doubtful on Friday).
RB Sammy Morris - NE - Morris missed the game on Sunday as expected (actually listed as doubtful by New England on Friday - the first "doubtful" this year and then later moved to "out"). He is recovering from a painful chest injury.
RB Michael Pittman - TB - Pittman was unable to play on Sunday due to his injured ankle - he was listed as out on Friday.
RB Naufahu Tahi - MIN - Tahi was sidelined on Sunday as expected (knee, out on Friday).

WR Sam Aiken - BUF - Aiken's sore hamstring cost him the game on Sunday (listed as doubtful on Friday). With Peerless Price on IR now (neck injury), the Bills' are thin at WR.
WR Drew Bennett - STL - Bennett sat out of the game on Sunday due to his ailing hamstring (listed as questionable on Friday).
WR Deion Branch - SEA - Branch missed another game due to his mid-foot sprain, as expected (listed as out on Friday).
WR Antonio Chatman - CIN - Chatman missed the game on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday due to his injured hamstring).
WR Michael Clayton - TB - Clayton injured his ankle during the team's game on Sunday, and will be evaluated further as the week goes along. "I felt it was okay, not a long-term injury," he said after the game. "I came back in the locker room and got some treatment, and it tightened up."
WR Chris Davis - TEN - Davis suffered an ankle injury during the game on Sunday - the nature and severity of the injury isn't currently known. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
WR Terry Glenn - DAL - Glenn missed another game on Sunday due to his ongoing rehab of his surgically repaired knee. He was listed as out on Friday's injury report.
WR D.J. Hackett - SEA - Hackett missed another game on Sunday due to his high ankle sprain, despite some optimism he might be able to play vs. the Rams. He was officially questionable to play on Friday's injury report.
WR Dante Hall - STL - Hall missed the game on Sunday as expected (ankle, out on Friday's injury report).
WR Andre Johnson - HOU - Johnson was inactive on Sunday as expected (ongoing knee woes, doubtful on Friday's injury report).

TE Jerame Tuman - PIT - Tuman was inactive on Sunday after being listed as doubtful on Friday (back injury).
TE Ben Watson - NE - Watson sat out of Sunday's contest due to his injured ankle (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday).
TE Daniel Wilcox - BAL - Wilcox's injured foot cost him another game on Sunday (listed as doubtful on Friday).
Kicker
Offensive Line
OL Arizona Cardinals - ARI - OT Mike Gandy injured his right calf during the team's Week 7 game - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Atlanta Falcons - ATL - T Todd Weiner was unable to play on Sunday due to his injured knee, as expected (listed as out on Friday).
OL Atlanta Falcons - ATL - The Falcons' OL took another blow on Sunday - LT Renardo Foster is feared to be lost for the season due to a gruesome-looking left knee injury "Renardo's [injury] did not look good," coach Petrino said after the game. Foster had recently replaced Wayne Gandy in the lineup. G Kynan Forney suffered some sort of head injury and was dazed after the game. The Falcons' line is decimated by injury at this point of the season.
OL St. Louis Rams - STL - One week after suffering a left ankle sprain (which he had pain-numbing medication administered to just before this week's game), C Brett Romberg left the game vs. Seattle with a right ankle injury. "I was setting back pass blocking, and I guess Marc (Bulger) got sacked into the back of my leg. It didn't feel too good. I think it's probably the same (type of injury) as last week."
OL Baltimore Ravens - BAL - T Jonathan Ogden was finally able to play a game through this week, and stated afterwards "It was OK," Ogden said of his foot as well as the hyperextended toe "It was sore, but not terrible. [I was] happy to be out there. I was a little tired, but that's what happens when you don't play in six weeks. I didn't aggravate it again, so that's the good thing." Center Mike Flynn was forced out for the second time in three weeks after reinjuring his right knee on Sunday.
OL Washington Redskins - WAS - G Randy Thomas continues to miss games due to his injured biceps, as expected (listed as out on Friday). OT Stephen Heyer (hamstring, questionable) and C Casey Rabach (groin, probable) also sat out of the contest on Sunday. The Redskins managed to win despite their banged up OL, but the situation is definitely not optimal heading into week 8.
OL New Orleans Saints - NO - C Jeff Faine injured his shoulder during the game on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Seattle Seahawks - SEA - T Ray Willis was sidelined on Sunday due to his sore knee as expected (listed as out on Friday).
Defensive Line
DL Philip Daniels - WAS - Daniels injured his left hand during the game on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further this week.
DL Ryan Denney - BUF - Denney missed the game on Sunday as expected (foot, out on Friday's injury report).
DL Vonnie Holliday - MIA - Holliday missed the game on Sunday as expected (ankle, out on Friday).

DL Leonard Little - STL - Little was limited in Sunday because of a toe injury. Little shared time with Victor Adeyanju and was credited with only one tackle during his time on the field - he's clearly not 100%.
