Week 14 Early Injury Report

Quarterback

QB Brodie Croyle - KC - Croyle's sore back cost him a game on Sunday (listed as questionable on Friday).

QB Daunte Culpepper - OAK - Culpepper missed the game on Sunday due to his injured quadriceps (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

QB Brett Favre - GB - Coach McCarthy commented on Brett Favre's bruised forearm/elbow injury (and aggravation of a left shoulder separation) by saying on Saturday "Just to quote the medical staff, his streak is not in danger. He'll be OK." Favre is expected to start and play as usual on Dec. 9.

QB Jeff Garcia - TB - According to some reports, Garcia has a fracture in his back - but coach Gruden strongly denies these reports, saying "I just wish some of these reports were verified. [Mortensen] doesn't have a (expletive) idea what he's talking about. I can't understand why he would say that unless he got the X-rays himself." Garcia added his opinion after the game "I'm ready to go next week. I think I'm going to be healthy enough to continue on all throughout the season." Stay tuned to the practice reports later in the week to gauge Garcia's progress returning to the lineup.

QB Shaun Hill - SF - Hill was active, but did not play, on Sunday, after being listed as probable with a sore right finger on Friday's injury report.

QB Damon Huard - KC - Huard, who was starting for the injured Brodie Croyle, was knocked out of the game against the San Diego Chargers with a hand injury. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

QB Byron Leftwich - ATL - Leftwich was inactive on Sunday due to his ongoing problems with a tailbone injury - he was listed as questionable on Friday.

QB Donovan McNabb - PHI - McNabb missed the game on Sunday due to his ongoing problems with swelling in his injured ankle and thumb (he was listed as doubtful to play on Friday).

QB Matt Schaub - HOU - Schaub left Sunday's game vs. the Tennessee Titans in the first quarter due to dislocating his left shoulder. HC Gary Kubiak commented afterwards "Matt has a dislocated shoulder, and that's all I know at this point." Schaub will be evaluated further to determine the severity of the injury on Monday. According to coach Kubiak, this is "a little hope" the injury isn't season ending. "We'll have more tests when we get back home," Schaub commented. "But we got it back into place, and now it's a matter of getting the range of motion and strength back."

QB Alex Smith - SF - Smith couldn't play on Sunday due to his injured right forearm and right shoulder, as expected (listed as doubtful on Friday).

Running Back

RB Jesse Chatman - MIA - Chatman was forced from the game in the 3rd quarter on Sunday as a result of an aggravation of the sprained right ankle he's been nursing for two weeks. "I just twisted it." he commented after the game. Chatman did not return to action.

RB Najeh Davenport - PIT - Davenport, not listed on the injury report on Friday, did not dress for last night's game because of an unspecified foot injury. He appeared to be in coach Tomlin's dog-house over the problem, although nobody was commenting on where or how he injured his foot after the game.

RB Ahman Green - HOU - As usual, Green's injured knee sidelined him on Sunday (listed as out on Friday).

RB Andre Hall - DEN - Hall missed the game on Sunday due to his high ankle sprain, as expected (listed as out on Friday).

RB Travis Henry - DEN - Henry played part of the game on Sunday, but he looked limited as far as his burst was concerned - "I just didn't feel like myself because of the layoff," he commented after the game. Henry returned from a partially torn PCL on Sunday.

RB Brandon Jacobs - NYG - Jacobs missed the game on Sunday due to his sore hamstring (he was listed as doubtful to play on Friday). Backup/sidekick Derrick Ward broke his leg on Sunday and is probably done for the season - the team hopes that Jacobs can go this week.

RB Larry Johnson - KC - Johnson was inactive on Sunday due to his injured foot (listed as out on Friday).

RB Brian Leonard - STL - Leonard suffered an ankle injury on Sunday and was unable to complete the game - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

RB Marshawn Lynch - BUF - Lynch missed the game on Sunday as expected (ankle injury, listed as out on Friday). However, Lynch is progressing rapidly in his rehab: "Marshawn has made a lot of progress and faster than we anticipated. But we're still up to the fourth game," HC Dick Jauron said on Monday. "We're hopeful, but I don't want to overstep it right now." Jauron called Lynch and the other injured players from last week "day-to-day".

RB Adrian Peterson - MIN - Peterson played part of the game on Sunday while wearing a knee brace, and looked like he was back to his usual explosive self. He'll continue to be monitored as the week goes along to see how the knee responds to the game-day stresses.

RB Mike Sellers - WAS - Sellers missed the game on Sunday as expected (back injury, listed as out on Friday).

RB Anthony Thomas - BUF - Thomas missed the game on Sunday as expected (calf injury, listed as out on Friday).

RB Pierre Thomas - NO - Thomas sat out of the game on Sunday due to his injured kidney (listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

RB Derrick Ward - NYG - Ward fractured his left fibula (leg bone) on his final carry on Sunday, after posting a fine 154-yard effort during the victory over Chicago. He's probably done for the season, but no official word has come down on that as of Monday morning.

RB LenDale White - TEN - White dislocated the middle finger on his right hand during the game on Sunday. He had to go to the locker room for stitches, and later returned to the sideline but not to game play - Chris Brown stepped into the lineup and handled the running duties vs. Houston.

RB Selvin Young - DEN - Young was in and out of the lineup on Sunday, first due to banging his left knee against a defenders helmet, and then a significant-looking injury to his upper right arm ended his day. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

Wide Receiver

WR Anquan Boldin - ARI - Boldin was forced from the game on Sunday after sustaining a dislocated toe on his left foot. He'll be evaluated further to determine the severity of the injury - stay tuned.

WR John Broussard - JAX - Broussard was inactive on Sunday due to his bad ankle (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

WR Laveranues Coles - NYJ - Coles did play on Sunday despite his sprained ankle, but on a partial basis. "I saw a look in a lot of guys' eyes when they saw me suiting up," Coles said after the game. "I feel like I'm one of the guys that can motivate this team and get guys going. A lot of people would pack it in and say, 'I'm hurting, I'll wait until it heals.' I don't want to take that approach." When he was asked how the ankle felt during the game, Coles replied "One word - hurt".

WR Jerricho Cotchery - NYJ - Cotchery was sidelined on Sunday due to his bad right index finger, which was recently surgically repaired (listed as out on Friday). He may miss a few more games due to the ongoing rehab on his digit.

WR Larry Fitzgerald - ARI - Fitzgerald tried to battle through his groin injury and play on Sunday, testing his ability in pre-game warmups - he was unable to take the field, though, and ended up on the inactive list.

WR D.J. Hackett - SEA - Hackett couldn't play on Sunday due to his re-injured ankle, as expected (listed as out on Friday).

WR Dante Hall - STL - Hall missed the game on Sunday as expected (ankle injury, listed as out on Friday).

WR Marvin Harrison - IND - Harrison sat out of another game on Sunday due to his ongoing knee woes (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report). "When Marvin's back and our doctors feel like he can practice, play and have a good chance to play the next week, that's when he's going to play," Dungy said on Sunday after the Colts defeated the Jaguars. "If games were do-or-die, he'd be playing. We want to win these next four, but I don't think they'll be do-or-die games." All the indications we've been getting out of Indy are that Harrison isn't going to play again until the playoffs.

WR Jason Hill - SF - Hill couldn't play on Sunday due to his injured groin, as expected (listed as doubtful on Friday).

WR Santonio Holmes - PIT - Holmes missed the game on Sunday due to his injured ankle, after being listed as out on Friday.

WR Dwayne Jarrett - CAR - Jarrett couldn't play on Sunday due to his injured knee, as expected (listed as doubtful on Friday).

WR Brandon Jones - TEN - Jones left the game in the 1st quarter with a groin injury - he did not return to action. Jones will be evaluated further as the week goes along.

WR Glenn Martinez - DEN - Martinez was unable to play on Sunday due to his sore ankle (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

WR Antwaan Randle El - WAS - Randle El missed the game on Sunday due to his injured hamstring, after being listed as questionable on Friday.

WR Steve Smith - NYG - The Giants' Steve Smith missed yet another game due to his never-ending hamstring injury (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

WR James Thrash - WAS - Thrash missed the game on Sunday as expected (ankle injury, listed as out on Friday).

WR Jerheme Urban - ARI - Urban's heel injury kept him sidelined on Sunday (listed as doubtful to play on Friday).

WR Javon Walker - DEN - Walker did play on Sunday, but in a limited role. After the game QB Jay Cutler said he though Walker wasn't 100% yet, but Walker claimed he's "fine". One thing is certain - Walker hasn't helped out his fantasy owners over the last 2 weeks, with only 1 catch so far in his return to the field.

WR Roy Williams - DET - Williams hurt his right knee in Sunday's game during the second quarter. He did not return to action - further evaluations on Monday revealed a sprained PCL in the joint. Coach Marinelli indicated that Williams will miss several weeks due to the injury, effectively ending his season.

WR Troy Williamson - MIN - Williamson missed the game on Sunday due to his concussion/after-effects from the concussion - he was listed as doubtful to play on Friday.

Offensive Line

OL San Francisco 49ers - SF - OG David Baas tweaked an elbow during the game on Sunday, but returned to action after the injury.

OL Cincinnati Bengals - CIN - T Willie Anderson missed the game on Sunday due to his injured knee, as expected (he was listed as out on Friday).

OL Cincinnati Bengals - CIN - C Eric Ghiaciuc and RG Bobbie Williams both left the game briefly early on Sunday, but returned to the game. Ghiaciuc suffered a right knee injury and later suffered a left ankle injury - he did finish the game, though. Williams had a left foot tweak but also came back to action. None of the injuries appear too serious as of Monday morning.

OL Kansas City Chiefs - KC - LT Damion McIntosh sprained his knee on Sunday - the exact nature and severity of the injury isn't currently known. "It's the same right knee I injured in training camp," McIntosh said after the game. "This is not as serious as it was then. I'll get treatment and get back on the field as soon as I can. I'd prefer a guy falling on me than (be injured by) the turf."

OL Indianapolis Colts - IND - T Daniel Federkell (concussion/after-effects, out) and T Ryan Diem (ankle injury, questionable) both missed the game on Sunday.

OL New York Jets - NYJ - C Nick Mangold was forced from the team's game in the second quarter of the game on Sunday as the result of an undisclosed injury. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

OL Oakland Raiders - OAK - C Jake Grove missed the game on Sunday due to his sore knee, despite being listed as probable to play on Friday.

OL St. Louis Rams - STL - C Brett Romberg missed another game due to his ongoing ankle woes (listed as questionable on Friday).

OL Washington Redskins - WAS - G Randy Thomas missed yet another game on Sunday due to his ongoing rehab of a triceps injury, after being listed as questionable on Friday.

OL Washington Redskins - WAS - RT Todd Wade bruised his knee during the game on Sunday - no official word on the severity of his injury as of Monday morning.

OL Seattle Seahawks - SEA - C Chris Spencer suffered an oblique injury and had to leave the game - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. OT Walter Jones left for a few plays in the first quarter due to a leg injury, but he did get back in the action.

OL Pittsburgh Steelers - PIT - T Marvel Smith missed the game on Sunday due to his sore back, after being listed as doubtful on Friday.

OL Houston Texans - HOU - OL Chris White injured his knee (MCL injury) during the game vs the Titans. After the game, HC Gary Kubiak indicated that White will likely miss the remainder of the 2007 season as a result of the injury. RG Fred Weary had to be carted off the field in the second quarter of the game after injuring his right leg (broken tibia). He did not return to action. Kubiak said that Weary would also likely miss the remainder of the 2007 season due to his injury.

OL Tennessee Titans - TEN - G Benji Olson missed the game on Sunday due to his bad back (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

OL Minnesota Vikings - MIN - LT Bryant McKinnie suffered a left knee injury early in the game, but was able to return to action shortly thereafter: "I thought it might have been hurt. It was stiff for a minute," McKinnie said after the game. "But I was able to walk it off."

Defensive Line

DL Ikaika Alama-Francis - DET - Alama-Francis missed the game on Sunday due to his injured hamstring as expected (listed as out on Friday).

DL McKinley Boykin - NO - Boykin sat out of the game on Sunday due to his injured knee (listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

DL Raheem Brock - IND - Brock suffered a rib injury in the first quarter of the game on Sunday and did not return to action. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

DL Brodrick Bunkley - PHI - Bunkley sat out of the game on Sunday due to his injured knee (listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

DL Luis Castillo - SD - Castillo missed another game on Sunday as expected (ankle, out on Friday's injury report).

DL Jacques Cesaire - SD - Cesaire suffered a sprained thumb on Sunday, but is expected to play as usual this week.

LB Boss Bailey - DET - Bailey suffered a knee injury on Sunday in the 3rd quarter and did not return to action. He'll be evaluated further to determine the exact nature and severity of the injury.

LB Danny Clark - HOU - Clark missed the game on Sunday due to his sore groin (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

LB Donnie Edwards - KC - Edwards suffered a hamstring injury during the game on Sunday. He sat out of most of the second half as a result of the injury. Edwards will be evaluated further as the week goes along.

LB Keyaron Fox - KC - Fox missed the game on Sunday due to his sore back (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

LB Ian Gold - DEN - Gold left the game for a short time on Sunday with a jammed neck but he returned to action. The injury isn't considered serious at this time.

LB Kris Griffin - CLE - Griffin injured his right knee on the opening kickoff during the game on Sunday. He had to be carted off of the field - no official word yet on the severity of the injury, but initial indications are not good.

LB Will Herring - SEA - Herring couldn't play on Sunday due to his injured hamstring, as expected (listed as out on Friday).

LB Brandon Johnson - ARI - Johnson suffered a shoulder injury of unspecified severity on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

DB Eric Bassey - STL - Bassey missed the game on Sunday as expected (knee injury, listed as out on Friday).

DB Fernando Bryant - DET - Bryant sustained a right hand injury during the third quarter on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. He's also dealing with an ankle injury that is limiting his snap count - "I don't talk about my injuries too often, but it's been tough on me the last three or four week with the ankle," Bryant said. "Right now, I don't know if I could make it for 60 or 65 snaps a game."

DB James Butler - NYG - Butler tweaked a hamstring during the game on Sunday and was briefly sidelined - he did return to action, though. The injury looks minor at this time.

DB Jerametrius Butler - BUF - Butler missed the game on Sunday as expected (calf injury, listed as out on Friday).

DB Jarrod Cooper - OAK - Cooper missed the game on Sunday due to his injured knee (listed as out on Friday).

DB Travis Fisher - DET - Fisher suffered a wrist injury of unspecified severity on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

DB Aaron Francisco - ARI - Francisco missed another game on Sunday due to his ongoing calf injury woes, after being listed as doubtful to play on Friday.

DB LaMarcus Hicks - DET - Hicks suffered an ankle injury during the game on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further to determine the exact nature and severity of the injury. On Monday, examinations revealed a broken ankle, which will end Hicks' season.

DB Daven Holly - CLE - Holly left the game in the 3rd quarter after getting shaken up in a dogpile. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

DB Chris Hope - TEN - Hope missed the game on Sunday as expected (back, out on Friday).

DB Marcus Hudson - SF - Hudson couldn't play on Sunday due to his injured knee, as expected (listed as out on Friday).

DB Tim Jennings - IND - Jennings missed the game on Sunday due to an upper leg injury (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).

DB Michael Johnson - NYG - Johnson suffered a neck injury during the game on Sunday, and was briefly sidelined. However, he returned to action and this injury appears to be minor.

DB Lito Sheppard - PHI - Sheppard, though playing on Sunday, was visibly limited by his ongoing problems with a knee injury. Sheppard eventually left the game when, in coach Andy Reid's words, he "irritated his knee." Sheppard will receive treatment and be further evaluated as the week goes along. "It looks like it's structurally sound, but we'll have to see how that goes," Reid added in post-game comments.

DB Shawntae Spencer - SF - Spencer couldn't play on Sunday due to his injured quadricep, as expected (listed as out on Friday).

DB Shawn Springs - WAS - Springs bruised his back during the game on Sunday, and then re-injured it after returning to the game - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. "I'll be ready." he said after the game, when asked if he'd play on Thursday.

DB Donald Strickland - SF - Strickland injured his knee during the game on Sunday. However, the injury is not believed to be serious at this time. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

DB Nathan Vasher - CHI - Vasher sat out of the game on Sunday due to his injured groin, despite being listed as probable to play on Friday.

DB C.J. Wallace - SEA - Wallace suffered a knee injury during the game on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

DB Madieu Williams - CIN - Williams was shaken up while delivering a hard hit to Hines Ward on Sunday night, but did return to action later in the game.

DB Tank Williams - MIN - Williams missed the game on Sunday due to his injured knee (listed as out on Friday).

DB Adrian Wilson - ARI - Wilson is now on IR due to surgery to repair his injured right heel.

DB Gibril Wilson - NYG - Wilson's sore knee landed him on the inactive list on Sunday (doubtful to play on Friday's injury report).

DB Josh Wilson - SEA - Wilson injured his leg during the first half of the game yesterday (pulled quadriceps). He did not return to action - Wilson will be evaluated further as the week goes along.

DB Coy Wire - BUF - Wire missed the game on Sunday as expected (neck injury, listed as out on Friday).

DB Cameron Worrell - MIA - Worrell suffered an apparent injury to his left leg on Sunday. He did not return to action, and will be evaluated further as the week goes along. Worrell indicated after the game he fears an ACL injury: "It didn't feel good when I did it. It kind of got caught underneath me when I got hit by a lineman...Until we get that MRI, we won't really know for sure."

DB Eric Wright - CLE - Wright missed the game on Sunday due to his bad knee, after being listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report.

DB Dexter Wynn - HOU - Wynn couldn't play on Sunday due to his sore thigh (listed as doubtful on Friday).
