Quarterback
QB Marc Bulger - STL - Bulger suffered a concussion in Sunday's game against Seattle, and did not return to action. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along - the league is handling concussions with great care this year, so it's possible he could be sidelined for a while, depending on the severity of the injury. Bulger owners will want to keep a close eye on is practice/lack of practice this week and his injury status on Friday. After the game, coach Linehan commented "He didn't seem quite right on the sideline. We talked a little bit. I could tell right when he came off that there was something that was a little different." Bulger was sent to a hospital for observation due to the injury.
QB Brodie Croyle - KC - Croyle was injured on a hard hit to his back - he didn't leave the game, but while the Chiefs were on defense Croyle did take a shot to deaden the pain. Croyle owners will want to monitor his practice participation this week to see if this injury becomes an issue or not.
QB Jeff Garcia - TB - Garcia tweaked his back on the first play on Sunday, and was sidelined for much of the game due to the injury. However, he did get back in the action late in the game - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. He described the pain as the worse he's felt for years, and called it "Almost like a kidney shot." after the game. On Monday, coach Gruden characterized the injury as a "deep bone bruise" and said Garcia was day-to-day due to the injury. "I know he's in a lot of pain. We'll see where he is tomorrow," Gruden said. "He can play, no question with reduced practice snaps. Again, I don't want to speculate at this point. He might be ready to go Wednesday; he may not be."
QB Donovan McNabb - PHI - McNabb's sore ankle and swollen thumb kept him out of the game on Sunday night (he was listed as doubtful to play on Friday).
QB Steve McNair - BAL - McNair missed the game on Sunday as expected (left shoulder injury, out on Friday's injury report).
QB Tony Romo - DAL - Romo commented on the progress of his injured pinkie finger (throwing hand) on Sunday, stating "It was difficult to grip the football and pull down as hard as you want to consistently," Romo said. "It's something you have to go through. I tried to manage the game well. It will be fine..."I think I'll be fine on Thursday." Coach Wade Phillips indicated after Sunday's practice that Romo threw the ball well.
QB Alex Smith - SF - Smith sat out of the game on Sunday after being listed as questionable on Friday (right forearm, shoulder injury). Asked after the game if Dilfer would start for the rest of the season, coach Nolan simply reiterated that Smith is out for "a couple" of weeks, and added: "At that time, we'll re-evaluate it. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. We'll get there when it happens."
QB Vinny Testaverde - CAR - Testaverde missed the game because he awoke with a tight back on Sunday: "I was trying to get some treatment, stretch, ride the bike, do what I could to get it loose," Testaverde said after the loss to New Orleans. "You work all week to play on Sunday and I didn't get that opportunity this week. It's unfortunate. But hopefully next week."
QB Kurt Warner - ARI - Warner tweaked his ribs on Sunday but stayed in the game throughout the contest - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along, but this injury doesn't look serious at first blush.

Running Back
RB Shaun Alexander - SEA - Alexander sat out of the game on Sunday as expected (knee, out on Friday's injury report).
RB Cedric Benson - CHI - Benson suffered a nasty looking left ankle injury during the game on Sunday, and was unable to put any weight on the leg leaving the field (before being carted off the field). Further evaluation is pending, but initial indications are that Benson's season might be over. But that's not official yet. "They told me not to say anything," Benson said on his way out of the stadium after the game. Coach Lovie Smith called it a "pretty good ankle injury." Adrian Peterson looks like the starter for Chicago by necessity going forward for the rest of 2007.
RB Reggie Bush - NO - Bush did play on Sunday, but was limited in his carries due to his bruised shin. Backups Aaron Stecker and Pierre Thomas carried the ball 25 times for 74 yards, while Bush had 9 rushes for 32 yards. Bush will continue to receive treatment during the week. Coach Payton commented after the game "I didn't think come game time that (Bush's injury) would be a factor. It's just the pain. And when you play running back, there's a chance you're going to get hit there, you're going to get banged there and it's going to be sore. It's managing the pain, and in Friday's practice it swelled a little bit. So I was pleased with his playing time, and he gave us some juice a little bit, as did Aaron and Pierre. I though we had good balance, a good mix."
RB Frank Gore - SF - Gore played through his sore right ankle (which he tweaked in the first half) on Sunday and looked very solid vs. the Cardinals. After the injury coach Nolan helped him off the field and told his assistants "Doesn't look like you're going to get Frank back." - but "Then a series later, I looked out there and the son-of-a-gun was in the game," Nolan said after the game. Gore will receive treatment and be evaluated further as the week goes along.

"It started getting worse and worse, but I knew the team needed me so I stuck it out," Hall said after the contest. He indicated he felt he and Selvin Young should be ready for the next game. "I don't know what's going on with all the tailbacks getting injured," Hall said. "We need a witch doctor or something. We got the hoax on us. But we'll be all right. I think me and Selvin are going to have a big week competing against each other."
The team is calling it a high ankle sprain which is normally a longer term injury although they haven't ruled out Hall being available this week. Said coach Shanahan, "I've seen guys with high ankle sprains come back and play in the coming week; sometimes it takes guys three or four weeks. You never know. I'll tell you more as the week goes on."
