Week 11 Early Injury Report

Quarterback
QB David Carr - CAR - Carr's concussion kept him out of the game on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday). "I took a knee to the head in that New Orleans game which turned out to be a concussion as well," Carr explained on Sunday. "So the concussion against Tennessee was my second this season. That's why the doctors were so careful with me this week, because if I get a third one this season, I'll probably be out for a longer amount of time."
QB Jay Cutler - DEN - Cutler briefly left the game after being hit in his injured left leg, but returned shortly thereafter. Cutler played with a pad on his bruised lower leg, and will continue to receive treatment for the bad bruise as the week goes along.
QB Trent Edwards - BUF - Edwards was active but did not play on Sunday as he continues to rehab his wrist injury (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
QB David Garrard - JAX - Garrard was inactive on Sunday despite hopes he might play earlier in the week (ankle, questionable on Friday). After the game on Sunday, he spoke to reporters saying "I'm back" in reference to week 11.
QB Brian Griese - CHI - Griese went down with a shoulder injury on Sunday and couldn't continue to play. Rex Grossman stepped in to the lineup in relief of Griese. OC Ron Turner stated after the game ""Yeah, he sounded good. He said it's not too bad. It's not much of a medical statement, but ... " Griese will be evaluated further as the week goes along.
QB Joey Harrington - ATL - Harrington got the wind knocked out of him while trying to evade pressure from the Panthers' defense and had to come out of the game on Atlanta's second series. He was also hit hard on the winning TD throw to Alge Crumpler, but he isn't injured seriously.
QB Kelly Holcomb - MIN - Holcomb's ongoing neck injury landed him on the sidelines on Sunday (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
QB Damon Huard - KC - Huard was knocked out in the third quarter because of what he said was a neck injury after being sacked. Huard said he couldn't have immediately returned to the game, he might have been able to play later - but the coaching staff replaced the ineffective Huard with Brodie Croyle.
QB Tarvaris Jackson - MIN - Jackson's concussion kept him out of the game on Sunday (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
QB Byron Leftwich - ATL - Leftwich missed the game on Sunday as expected (ankle, doubtful to play on Friday's injury report).
QB Vinny Testaverde - CAR - Testaverde was able to play on Sunday despite his Achilles' tendon woes - "The Achilles was good enough to get me through the game," Testaverde said after the loss to Atlanta.
QB Kurt Warner - ARI - Warner suffered a torn ligament in his left (non throwing) thumb Sunday. He was replaced briefly by Tim Rattay but then returned to the game and seemed to be ok.
Running Back
RB Lorenzo Booker - MIA - Booker played in the game on Sunday, but suffered a minor foot/ankle injury that sidelined him after catching a screen pass - the injury is considered minor at this time.
RB Chris Brown - TEN - Brown's sore ankle cost him another game on Sunday (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
RB Correll Buckhalter - PHI - Buckhalter was a game-time scratch due to illness (flu) on Sunday - hopefully, he'll get well enough to play this week.
RB Reggie Bush - NO - Bush suffered an undisclosed injury during the game on Sunday, but he did return to action - this looks like a minor tweak of some kind.
RB DeShaun Foster - CAR - Foster aggravated a turf toe problem during the game on Sunday, and will receive treatment for the injury as the week goes along.
RB Ahmard Hall - TEN - Hall's broken forearm kept him out on Sunday as expected.
RB Travis Henry - DEN - Henry's sore knee sidelined him on Sunday (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
RB Larry Johnson - KC - Johnson's injured foot sidelined him on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday).
RB Kevin Jones - DET - Jones left the game on Sunday twice for undisclosed reasons: "He's sore," coach Marinelli said after the game. Jones owners will want to monitor his practice participation as the week goes along to determine how serious the "soreness" is.
RB Marshawn Lynch - BUF - Lynch injured his left ankle during the team's Week 10 game, and had a noticeable limp in the locker room after the game - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along. Lynch indicated he was "fine" when asked about the injury.
RB Jerious Norwood - ATL - Norwood's ailing ankle kept him on the sidelines on Sunday (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).
RB Adrian Peterson - MIN - Peterson left the game with a right knee injury, which will be evaluated with a MRI on Monday - the exact nature and severity of the injury isn't currently known. "It was scary," Peterson said. "I was like, 'I hope I didn't tear [something] or anything like that.' That basically is what was going through my mind. ... I was in pain for a minute there and it slowly went away."
On Monday, coach Brad Childress confirmed that Peterson has a grade 2 sprain (which is a tear) of the LCL ligament. He is out for this week but Childress would not give a time table for his return. Childress said the "good news" is that Peterson's knee is otherwise stable. "The PCL, ACL, meniscus, all the other structures are good in that knee," Childress said. "I'm told that's a good healing ligament. If it was a lineman they would be braced up and play, maybe. We'll reserve judgment on what's appropriate for that at the time. Everybody heals differently."
RB Gary Russell - PIT - Russell sat out of the game on Sunday due to a player decision, after being listed as probable on Friday's injury report.
RB Cecil Sapp - DEN - Sapp suffered a neck injury of unspecified severity and left the game on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
RB Derrick Ward - NYG - Ward's sore ankle and groin kept him out of the game on Sunday as expected (listed as doubtful on Friday).
RB LenDale White - TEN - White hurt his knee against the Jacksonville Jaguars but it didn't appear to be a serious injury at first blush. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
Wide Receiver
WR John Broussard - JAX - Broussard suffered a sprained ankle on Sunday, but after the game coach Del Rio said the receiver is "fine".
WR Isaac Bruce - STL - Bruce aggravated his injured hamstring on Sunday, and will be evaluated further as the week goes along. I believe it was the same hamstring," coach Linehan said after the game. "I don't know how serious it is."
WR Keary Colbert - CAR - Colbert missed the game on Sunday due to his sore foot (he was listed as questionable to play on Friday's injury report).
WR Terry Glenn - DAL - Glenn missed another game on Sunday as he continues to rehab his surgically repaired knee (listed as out on Friday).
WR Anthony Gonzalez - IND - Gonzalez's hand/thumb injury cost him the game on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday).
WR Dante Hall - STL - Hall's sore ankle sidelined him on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday.
WR Marvin Harrison - IND - Harrison's knee injury sidelined him on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday.
WR Brandon Jones - TEN - Jones sustained a concussion during the team's Week 10 game - he'll be further evaluated to determine the severity of the concussion and to monitor him for after-effects.
WR Joe Jurevicius - CLE - Jurevicius suffered and unspecified injury late during the game on Sunday (some reports say a tweaked knee), but the severity of the injury isn't currently known. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
WR Eddie Kennison - KC - Kennison aggravated the hamstring injury that has dogged him for most of the year on Sunday - he'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
WR Santana Moss - WAS - Moss' sore heel landed him on the sidelines on Sunday (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
WR Sidney Rice - MIN - Rice's sore hamstring landed him on the sidelines Sunday (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
WR Steve Smith - NYG - The Giants' Steve Smith continues to miss games due to shoulder and hamstring injuries (listed as out on Friday).
WR Isaiah Stanback - DAL - Stanback missed the game on Sunday due to his injured shoulder (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
WR James Thrash - WAS - Thrash injured his left ankle during the game on Sunday. He was later seen on crutches in the team's locker room following the game - he'll be evaluated further to determine the extent of the injury as the week goes along.
WR Javon Walker - DEN - Walker continues to miss games due to his surgically repaired knee (listed as out on Friday).
Tight End
TE Dallas Clark - IND - Clark's concussion sidelined him on Sunday after being listed as questionable to play on Friday.
TE Bubba Franks - GB - Franks' injured knee sidelined him on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday).
TE Todd Heap - BAL - Heap aggravated his strained hamstring and said after the game that he didn't know the severity of the re-injury.
"It's been better," said Heap, who left the game early in the third quarter, "Tried to go on it today. It's been hampering me for a while. It's definitely something that's frustrating and something I haven't dealt with before. I don't know what to expect from it. I'm just trying to do everything I can to get back as soon as possible."
TE Reggie Kelly - CIN - Kelly was out on Sunday due to his knee injury, as expected (listed as doubtful on Friday).
TE Martrez Milner - ATL - Milner had to be carted off the field with an ankle injury in the first half and he did not return to action - he'll be evaluated further to determine the nature and severity of this injury.
TE Matt Murphy - BUF - Murphy's sore calf sidelined him on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday's injury report).
TE Robert Royal - BUF - Royal sustained a mild concussion during the team's Week 10 game - he'll be evaluated further to determine the true severity of the injury and to monitor him for any after-effects, but at first blush this injury doesn't look too serious.
TE Tony Scheffler - DEN - Scheffler left the game in the first half due to a bruised chest, but returned to the lineup later in the game. This doesn't appear to be a serious injury as of Monday.
TE Derek Schouman - BUF - Schouman is on IR now due to an ankle injury.
TE Jerame Tuman - PIT - Tuman missed the game on Sunday due to his injured back (listed as out on Friday).
TE Aaron Walker - STL - Walker's bum shoulder cost him the game on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday).
TE Daniel Wilcox - BAL - Wilcox's injured foot sidelined him on Sunday as expected (listed as out on Friday).
Kicker
PK Jason Elam - DEN - Elam is playing through a calf strain in his kicking leg right now: "To be honest with you, Thursday night I didn't think I'd be able to go. Even Friday morning they were talking about the possibility of bringing someone in." He said after the game. "I figured we're not going to be trying long field goals with my calf strain. Ended up, we were bombing away."
PK Josh Scobee - JAX - Scobee missed yet another game due to his injured quad (listed as doubtful on Friday).

OL Chicago Bears - CHI - G Ruben Brown (shoulder injury) was placed on IR before this weeks' game - he's out for the season.
OL Cincinnati Bengals - CIN - T Willie Anderson was out on Sunday as expected.
OL Cleveland Browns - CLE - G Seth McKinney was sidelined on Sunday as expected (shoulder, out on Friday).
OL San Diego Chargers - SD - C Nick Harwick (foot injury) was out on Sunday as expected.
OL Kansas City Chiefs - KC - K.C.'s OT Will Svitek (foot injury) missed the game on Sunday as expected after being listed as out on Friday.
OL Kansas City Chiefs - KC - LT Damion McIntosh left the game on Sunday because of a sore Achilles' tendon. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Indianapolis Colts - IND - T Tony Ugoh (neck) and T Daniel Federkell (concussion) were both unable to play on Sunday after being listed as questionable on Friday's injury report.
OL New York Giants - NYG - RT Kareem McKenzie bruised his back during the second half of the team's game, and he did not return to action. He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.
OL Jacksonville Jaguars - JAX - T Dennis Norman missed the game on Sunday due to a shoulder injury (listed as questionable to play on Friday).
OL Detroit Lions - DET - OT Jonathan Scott (hand injury) missed the game on Sunday after being listed as doubtful on Friday.
