The Profit

Very limited commentary on the games this week with it being a short week. And yes, I know that every week from here on out is a short week. By that time, I'll have to have a better ability to budget my time. Either that, or I just won't ever pick the Thursday night game. Either way.

Anyway, it's almost Thanksgiving so let's get to the picks! (A week above .500 now qualifies as exclamation point-worthy. Sad.)

Source: Yahoo.com Pro Football Pick'em

MIAMI (-3) at DETROIT (Thanksgiving)
Possibly no Kevin Jones means that the rest of the offense won't be doing much either. Oh, and the Dolphins have played very well lately. Pick: Dolphins

DALLAS (-11) vs. TAMPA BAY (Thanksgiving)
Bruce Gradkowski may not make it out of the first quarter. Pick: Cowboys

DENVER (-1) at KANSAS CITY (Thanksgiving)
Last week may mark the beginning of the end for the Broncos division title run. Remember, the Chiefs are a desperate team to, and no one gets his team ready for big games quite like Herm. Pick: Chiefs

BALTIMORE (-3) vs. PITTSBURGH
Just in case there's another late-season rally in the cards. Pick: Steelers

CINCINNATI (-3) at CLEVELAND
I keep getting burned by picking against the Browns, and I'm sick of it. I'm pretty sure this one will make me kick myself, because no one has stopped Cincy for a few weeks now. Pick: Browns

SAINT LOUIS (-5.5) vs. SAN FRANCISCO
If the Rams offense doesn't get back on track THIS week, panic - a lot. Pick: Rams

CAROLINA (-4) at WASHINGTON
I know it's always dangerous relying on Carolina, but until the Redskins show me an ability to compete against a quality team I'm going against them every time. Pick: Panthers

JACKSONVILLE (-3) at BUFFALO
In keeping with their theme of playing down to their competition. Pick: Bills

NEW YORK GIANTS (-3) at TENNESSEE
Time for the Giants to regroup, and there's no better team to do it against. Pick: Giants

NEW ENGLAND (-3) vs. CHICAGO
Bears finish up a brutal east coast swing with a trip to New England, where the Pats have to win with the Dolphins and Jets making late charges. Pick: Patriots

INDIANAPOLIS (-9) vs. PHILADELPHIA
The Philly team morale is killed with McNabb being out, but it's not like the Colts can stop this offense anyway. The Eagles will lose, but keep it close enough. Pick: Eagles

SEATTLE (Off) vs. GREEN BAY
Pick: Seahawks (whatever the line ends up being)

BEST BETS

MINNESOTA (-6) vs. ARIZONA
Edgerrin James might be looking at a -17 yard performance. Pick: Vikings

NEW YORK JETS (-6) vs. HOUSTON
I don't understand how the Jets, a team who has proven to be quality, can only be favored against one of the league's worst teams - and at home to boot! Pick: Jets

ATLANTA (-3) vs. NEW ORLEANS
This is the same matchup that saw the Saints win 23-3 last time, right? Just making sure. Pick: Saints

SAN DIEGO (-13) vs. OAKLAND
Warning. Do NOT pick against the Chargers against bad teams. San Diego can score on anyone, no matter that the Oakland defense is playing better. And we all know the Raiders can't score offensively. Pick: Chargers
