Quarterback
Culpepper missed the game on Sunday, as expected (knee, out). He has been publicly speaking about possibly missing the rest of the season as his surgically repaired knee simply hasn't come around as hoped.
Favre injured a nerve in his right elbow. The injury left Favre without enough hand strength to grip the football. "He hit it right on the nerve, the funny-bone (ulnar) nerve, whatever you want to classify it," coach McCarthy said. On Monday, the team was more optimistic, indicating that Favre's strength was returning rapidly. With Aaron Rodgers out, the team is hopeful Favre can play in Week 12. According to the packers.com website, McCarthy said Favre was getting the strength back in his hand and wasn't concerned about the injury. He will be evaluated further on Wednesday.
Hasselbeck sat out of the game on Sunday due to his MCL sprain - he may be able to get in the game this week, but the team is being cautious to ensure he doesn't re-injure the knee (he was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report).
After consulting with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., Byron Leftwich has opted for ankle surgery, scheduled for this Tuesday, according to the team. He may be done for the season, or could possibly return late in the year depending on the result of the surgery.
McNabb tore his right ACL on Sunday, and is done for the season. He'll take between 8-12 months to return to the field, according to head coach Reid. Coach Reid will make a decision as to whether Jeff Garcia or A.J. Feeley will step into the Eagles' starting lineup.
Rodgers limped out of the locker room after the game with what appeared to be a serious foot or ankle injury. Rodgers, who fumbled on his final play after getting sacked, refused to talk with reporters as he limped barefoot from his locker to the training room. On Monday, the team revealed that Rodgers broke his foot and is out for the season - they need Favre to bounce back from his nerve injury quickly.
