Dynasty Watch

For the 2006 season, the Dynasty Staff highlighted 130 different NFL players for they dynasty potential. Some of these guys really came through. Some did not. Others are still a question mark for the future. Here's a recap of the 2006 Dynasty Watch players who did not make the playoffs:

Roscoe Parrish, WR, Buffalo Bills (Week 4)

Accomplishments - Parrish finished the season strong with six receptions for 50 yards against the Ravens in week 17 and had 23 receptions for 320 yards and 2 TDs for the season.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Parrish had a spotty performance for the Bills this season, but showed real promise in a couple games. He only cracked the starting lineup once, but had solid impact when he came off the bench in week 3 and week 17.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Parrish was a victim of the weak Buffalo passing attack (25th). However, he's going to push Josh Reed for a starting job next season, and that will make him a solid WR3 in most performance leagues.

Robert Royal, TE, Buffalo Bills (Week 16)

Accomplishments - Royal didn't do much the final game of the season, but he finished the year with 233 receiving yards and 3 TDs

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - As TEs go, Royal isn't quite 'starter' quality yet, but he finished the year as Buffalo's #1 TE, and should be worthy of a roster spot as a backup for now.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Royal still isn't ready for prime time yet, but as the Buffalo Passing attack improves under JP Losman, Royal should see more targets his way. He might never be a starter quality guy, but in dynasty leagues, he's definitely worth having as a backup in case of an injury.

Ko Simpson, S, Buffalo Bills (Week 12)

Accomplishments - 7 total tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and two interceptions, not too shabby for a rookie thrown into the fire.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Troy Vincent was put on injured reserve early in the season, opening the door for Simpson to join fellow rookie safety Donte Whitner in the starting lineup. We've seen his big play style from South Carolina translate to the NFL.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Ko should be a stalwart starter in the secondary along with Whitner. He's got less tackle potential than Donte, but more big play potential.

Derek Anderson, QB, Cleveland Browns (Weeks 13, 14)

Accomplishments - Anderson came in after starting QB Charlie Frye went down with an injury in Week 13 to post three solid starts against tougher defenses (KC, Pittsburgh, Baltimore) before having a clunker against Tampa Bay.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Frye really wasn't living up to preseason expectations despite having better weapons at WR and TE, so the possibility for a change was there even before Frye got hurt.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Anderson could easily find himself in a QB battle in training camp for the Browns next August. Of course, Cleveland could be drafting another quarterback in the draft, which would change everything, but Anderson represents a good amount of upside with little downside risk.

Jason Wright, RB, Cleveland Browns (Week 12)

Accomplishments - The good news for Wright is that he was the second leading rusher for Cleveland in 2006. The bad news was that it didn't take much effort to rate that high for the Browns.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Wright was the feature back twice in 2006, both times when Reuben Droughns was nicked and unable to go. Wright has not posted very good numbers, but part of the blame has to go to the dreadful offensive line for the Browns and also the stout defenses that Wright has faced (Pittsburgh, KC, and Baltimore twice).

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Wright could get another chance as a third down back or even develop into Droughns' long-term replacement. Starting RBs are hard to come by, so giving a prospect such as Wright a roster spot may pay off in the long run.

Daven Holly, CB, Cleveland Browns (Week 15)

Accomplishments - Holly became the starting CB in Cleveland this season and finished the season with 54 solo tackles, 3 assists, 5 INTs, 1 FR and 2 TDs

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Holly closed out the season with some solid performances. Even in his last two games where he only recorded 1 assist, he still had 2 INTs and fumble recovery for a TD.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Cleveland has a terrible run defense (29th in rushing yards allowed) and that leads to a lot of tackles for the secondary. As he enters his second season as a starter for Cleveland, Holly should improve on his stats from this season.

Kenny Watson, RB, Cincinnati Bengals (Week 14)

Accomplishments - Watson was the #2 RB on the Bengals this season, and finished the season with 48 touches for 358 yards from scrimmage and a TD.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Chris Perry was banged up for most of the season and was eventually placed on IR. Watson became the fall back third down back and performed well in the roll.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Watson is a free agent this season, and a lot will depend on what team he's playing for next year. He performed well as a backup to Rudi Johnson though and should be worth keeping an eye on wherever he ends up.

Kelley Washington, WR, Cincinnati Bengals (Week 4)

Accomplishments - Washington ended up with nine catches for 115 and a TD in the first four games, and was not heard from again on the stat sheet.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Chris Henry seemed more likely to be playing football in prison than in the NFL, but he has returned to the lineup, making a strong contribution, and Washington ended up on IR.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Washington will be an unrestricted free agent. He should get some interest because of his physical talent, but he has been a disappointment so far in his career.

Tab Perry, WR, Cincinnati Bengals (Week 5)

Accomplishments - Perry caught five passes for 81 yards before suffering a season-ending hip injury.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - He's a dynamic runner for such a large framed WR (his 1500+ yards returning kicks in 2005 attest to that), and again, Chris Henry seemed like he could fall out of the NFL at any moment after his numerous arrests.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Perry will have trouble cracking the top three WR on the roster with Henry back in good graces, but one slip-up by Chris could elevate Perry's importance next year.

Ahmad Brooks, LB, Cincinnati Bengals (Week 7)

Accomplishments - Brooks performed OK during the five games that he started, but eventually he lost his job to Brian Simmons and Brooks only finished the season with 21 tackles, 10 assists and a sack.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - With Odell Thurman suspended for his off the field issues, Brooks had a golden opportunity to shine. But aside from his 10 tackle performance against TB in week 3, Brooks had an unremarkable rookie season.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Brooks had a roller coaster ride to get to the NFL, so it should be no surprise that his rookie season had high and low points. He'll get a shot to be a starter for the Bengals in 2007 and should be held on a dynasty roster 'just in case'.

Kevin Kaesviharn, FS, Cincinnati Bengals (Week 13)

Accomplishments - Kaesviharn has been one of those 'cusp' type of IDP guys who might or might not be worth a roster spot in dynasty leagues. He finished this season 48 tackles, 15 assists, 4 sacks and 6 INTs on just 7 starts.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Kaesviharn is a free agent this season and he has shown potential to be a solid IDP starter if given the chance. If he moves on to another team, he could take over the starting job.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - KK isn't the 'typical' dynasty player that you'd be targeting as he enters his seventh NFL season, but he's definitely worth having on your roster. Given his stats in his limited appearances this season, he could really be an impact player for a few seasons on another team.

Andre Hall, Cedric Cobbs, Damien Nash, RB, Denver Broncos (Week 10,11,13)

Accomplishments - This illustrious group had 21 combined carries for 75 yards and four catches for 41 yards in five games.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - We knew that Mike Bell was only an average talent, and that Tatum Bell was banged up, setting up any of these three guys to be the "Denver RB that comes out of nowhere". Well, they stayed in nowhere.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Nash and Cobbs seem to have used up their opportunities, each failing in their second chance. Hall is still an interesting talent who is one to keep tabs in if he's still on the roster in training camp 2007. The long term RB spot is still wide open in Denver.

Brandon Marshall, WR, Denver Broncos (Week 8,16)

Accomplishments - Marshall ended up with 20 catches for 309 yards and two TDs, including an improbable 71 yard TD that saw him break multiple tackles late in the fourth quarter, pulling the Broncos even with Seattle in a game they would eventually lose.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - He's a top notch talent despite falling to the fourth round, and his place as a future starter in Denver seems almost cinched at this point.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Marshall could be a WR3 for fantasy as soon as 2007, and he should develop into an every-week start in 3 WR and deep leagues for most of his career.

Tony Scheffler,TE, Denver Broncos (Week 15)

Accomplishments - Scheffler had really come on strong in the second half of 2006, connecting well with fellow rookie QB Jay Cutler. After just two catches for 16 yards before Week 8 and a subsequent inactivation for three weeks, the young TE caught 12 balls for 219 yards and four touchdowns in the final five games of the year.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Two consecutive weeks of three catches for over 50 yards will make anyone notice a tight end. Jay Cutler's targeting of Scheffler on a semi-consistent basis (four and five targets) also made one take note.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Scheffler looks to be the starting TE for the Broncos in 2007, and he already has a solid rapport with Jay Cutler. As HC Mike Shanahan likes to work in passes to the TE, especially near the goal line, Scheffler is a solid long term TE to get on your roster.

Elvis Dumervil, DE, Denver Broncos (Week 8)

Accomplishments - Elvis dispelled any notions that he was too small to make it as a pass rusher in the NFL. Like Brandon Marshall, he was a productive fourth round steal, leading the team with 8.5 sacks

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Dumervil could be one of the league's most productive pass rushers, even in a specialist role. Even when he was wasn't collecting QB pelts, he was drawing double teams, holding penalties, and generally causing problems for the opposing offense.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Dumervil is still a player to stash and hold in sack heavy IDP leagues. He may never get the tackles because he won't be an every-down end, but you can do a lot worse for a spot starter. He's a threat for multiple sacks in any given game.

Sage Rosenfels, Bradlee Van Pelt, QB, Houston Texans (Week 9,14)

Accomplishments - Rosenfels finished the season on IR with 265 yards passing, 3 TDs and 1 INT. Van Pelt never took a regular season snap.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - David Carr had just two TD passes in the final 10 games of the season, yet the Texans continued to go with him as the starter. Rosenfels and Van Pelt were not given any consideration.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - The 2007 starting QB for the Texans is probably not on the roster at this time. Rosenfels and Van Pelt will probably be a backup to whoever is the starter next season, but are probably not worth a roster spot at this time.

Ron Dayne, RB, Houston Texans (Week 15)

Accomplishments - Starting running backs in the NFL always get noticed, even if you have a checkered pedigree like Ron Dayne. After two dismal stints with the Giants and the Broncos, Dayne rekindled the Heisman Trophy winner's competitive spirit in Houston this past season.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Weeks 13 and 14 marked two consecutive weeks of 18+ carries and 80+ yards rushing, including two touchdowns. As the revolving door at tailback continued to spin in Houston, it appeared that Dayne may have solidified the position.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - With Domanick "Williams" Davis inactive all year and both rookie Wali Lundy and veteran Samkon Gado all consistently inconsistent, Dayne may have a shot at the starter job next season. A ton of things can happen between January and July, but once again starting NFL RBs are hard to find, so taking a flier on Dayne may be worthwhile.

Chris Taylor, RB, Houston Texans (Week 13)

Accomplishments - Taylor came off the practice squad in November then filled in at tailback in Weeks 16 and 17, giving HC Gary Kubiak a chance to see what the youngster could do. Taylor put up 99 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown in Week 17 against Cleveland, further muddying the backfield picture in Houston.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Taylor was activated off the practice squad in Week 12, and that warranted a look if ever he should get in the backfield for the Texans. That notice was validated in Weeks 16 and 17 as Taylor took the field.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Seriously, who knows? Kubiak looks like he learned this from HC Mike Shanahan out in Denver, as he continues to juggle RBs in the backfield for the Texans. If Domanick "Williams" Davis comes back, everyone could get cast aside, but why not gamble on a low risk young running back? Pick up Taylor if you have room and hope he gets more chances.

Owen Daniels, TE, Houston Texans (Week 3)

Accomplishments - Owen Daniels finished his first NFL season as the 14th best fantasy TE in 2006, catching 34 passes for 350 yards and five scores.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - The Texans always liked to throw to the TE, but they had been lacking a talented pass catcher at the position since Billy Miller. Both new HC Gary Kubiak and QB David Carr like having a "go to" receiver down the middle, and Daniels filled that void. In Week 2, Daniels delivered his first big game with four catches, 45 yards and his first ever NFL touchdown.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Daniels looks to be the starting TE for Houston for 2007 and beyond, and while many bigger names will get selected in redraft leagues first, Daniels is a solid TE2 that can possibly put up TE1 numbers. Dynasty-wise, Daniels' prowess in his first season shows good upside potential and long term stability for his fantasy owners.

Glenn Earl, SS, Houston Texans (Week 5)

Accomplishments - Earl started 15 games this season and posted career best totals: 60 solo tackles, 15 assists, 2 sacks and one interception.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Earl really came into his own this season and finished fifth on the team in total tackles. He is a free agent after this season, but will probably be back with the Texans in 2007.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Earl is on the rise and still combing. He should return to the Texans for 2007 and has the potential to become a solid IDP player as well. If he moves on to another team, he could have an even bigger upside.

David Garrard, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars (Week 3)

Accomplishments - Garrard finish 2006 with his best stats as a pro. He had 1735 yards passing, 10 TDs, 9 INTs and 47 carries for 250 yards rushing.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Leftwich was lost by week six and the Jags turned to Garrard as their QB. His mobility gives him a dimension that Jacksonville doesn't have under Leftwich, but he's still a backup for now.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Leftwich is the starter in Jacksonville. If Garrard had taken the Jags to the playoffs, he might have had a shot at the starting job. He still might get there with a solid performance in training camp, but at this point, he's a long shot.

Sammy Morris, RB, Miami Dolphins (Week 13)

Accomplishments - Filling in for the injured Ronnie Brown, Morris posted a decent average (4.3 yards per carry) as the featured rusher in his absence. Morris finished with 400 yards rushing and a touchdown in addition to his 21 catches for 162 yards.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Morris was a Dynasty Watch no-brainer once Brown was out, but he continued to produce all the way through December and Brown's return in Week 16.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Morris isn't quite as old as many would think, as he does not turn 30 until March 2007. With the continued durability concerns with Brown and the big question mark that is Ricky Williams, having Morris as a potential starter or as a Brown insurance policy seems like a good idea.

Derek Hagan, WR, Miami Dolphins (Week 7)

Accomplishments - Hagan did well for a rookie WR in a normal (non-Colston) year, posting 21 catches for 221 yards and a touchdown on 37 catches. He became the third or fourth WR most weeks, fighting for playing time with Wes Welker.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Hagan had a solid Week 6, catching six for 66 yards on 11 targets, Hagan's 2006 peak. That momentum carried just one week, however, as he had a solid Week 7 (5-53-1 on eight targets) but had three or fewer balls thrown in his direction for the remainder of the year.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Chris Chambers continued to drop passes all year and Marty Booker had health problems and will be 31 my Labor Day in 2007. Hagan could build on his first season and move into the third or second WR role as the Dolphins retool their passing game for next season.

Marcus Vick, WR, Miami Dolphins (Week 7)

Accomplishments - Signed after the draft by the Dolphins, Vick stuck on the roster this year. He made the practice squad as a WR (converted from QB) and then was activated in December when Marty Booker was injured.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - The former Hokie showed enough to HC Nick Saban's staff that he warranted a roster spot. He developed enough to be promoted from the practice squad in October, and for deep leagues those moves are noticed. He got a few passes thrown in his direction in December, recording one lone target on Christmas night.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - With Chris Chambers lackluster performance at WR and Marty Booker on the wrong side of 30, the WR position has some openings for the Dolphins. There is also the remote possibility of a return to QB, given the disarray in Miami under center this season, but Vick's biggest upside lies at WR. For deep leagues, Vick still warrants a roster spot, but as a #4 at best his future does not look too bright.

Wes Welker, WR, Miami Dolphins (Week 4)

Accomplishments - Welker was the clear #3 WR after Chris Chambers and Marty Booker, catching 67 passes on 100 targets this season. Welker actually had more targets than Booker and also contributed as the main return guy for the Dolphins on both punts and kickoffs.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Welker has good hands and also has great speed. He was on the field often enough to get noticed in September, and he actually had more targets than Booker in the first four weeks (27 to 21). Welker promptly had a great Week 5, catching 9 balls for 77 yards the week after appearing in the Dynasty Watch.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - The Dolphins' passing game is a mess, both at QB and WR. Chris Chambers has disappointed, and Daunte Culpepper blew up in HC Nick Saban's face this year. Welker should continue to be a big contributor on third downs and on special teams for Miami at a minimum in 2007, so he is worth more in leagues awarding return yards, but a solid and underrated third possession receiver is worth noting.

Cleo Lemon, QB, Miami Dolphins (Weeks 6, 16)

Accomplishments - After starting the season with Daunte Culpepper then going to Joey Harrington, Lemon came in as a reliever twice in December and then started Week 17 against the Colts, putting up decent numbers (18-36-210-1-0).

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Lemon first got a mention with Culpepper's woes, then once again as Harrington faltered. He's put up decent numbers and has good physical skills at QB (6-2,.215).

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - After all the issues the Dolphins had under center, a young prospect such as Lemon may get a shot if Culpepper can't answer the bell next fall. He's also been a part of two organizations (San Diego) and Miami liked him enough to trade A.J. Feeley and a sixth rounder to get him back, which shows that they are willing to give him a shot and also that they believe he can deliver the goods.

Bo Scaife, TE, Tennessee Titans (Week 3)

Accomplishments - Bo ended the season third in catches on the Titans, with 29 for 370 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 13 yard TD run on a Vince Young circus play.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Scaife had a good chance to become the starter and one of Vince Young's security blankets because of his history with VY and Ben Troupe's struggles. The TE position is still wide open long term in Tennessee.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Scaife did have inconsistent hands, and the team will probably continue to use a plethora of TEs. Scaife is worth rostering in very deep leagues and TE premium leagues, but he likely remain only sporadically relevant for fantasy.

Brandon Jones, WR, Tennessee Titans (Week 6,17)

Accomplishments - Jones came all the way back from an ACL tear to become Vince Young's best downfield threat as the season went on. He finished with 27 catches for 384 yards and two TDs, including the tying TD in the stirring comeback win over the Giants

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Drew Bennett is a free agent this offseason, and David Givens is coming back from a torn ACL. Jones could still seize a big role going forward

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Jones is not truly a #1 WR, and David Givens seems more suited to be the reliable #2. Jones has to step up in the offseason to keep the Titans from drafting a future #1 WR, but he's still worth rostering in just about any dynasty format.

Andrew Walter, QB, Oakland Raiders (Week 2)

Accomplishments - Thrust into the starting role eight times this season, Walter floundered as a young QB in the NFL often does. Walter's struggles only added to the woeful season this year for the Raiders.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - The word "Dynasty" used to flow well with Oakland, but those days are long gone. Walter has very limited upside in Oakland as the organization (which begins and ends with Al Davis) seems to have moved on towards new prospects. While Walter was considered a good first day draft pick in 2005, his 2006 efforts did not impress anyone.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - It's hard to write anything optimistic about any Oakland Raider QB. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - "Just Quinn Baby" should be the new mantra in the "disarray by the bay". Walter has been afforded multiple tries under center for the Raiders, and any future hope for his career will be on another roster. On the bright side, Walter's numbers compare well to Alex Smith's in his first season in San Francisco, so there could be hope should Walter land on his feet elsewhere.

Justin Fargas, RB, Oakland Raiders (Week 8)

Accomplishments - Justin Fargas finished the 2006 season as the leading rusher for the Oakland Raiders. Mind you, LaMont Jordan was injured much of the year and could only play 10 games, but Fargas accomplished a decent amount of production on a terrible team.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Fargas drew attention on the Dynasty Watch as LaMont Jordan missed Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals. Fargas put up 66 yards as his replacement. Fargas was the most active RB for Oakland in all but two contests for the rest of 2006.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - It could be that another RBBC situation emerges as whomever tries to rebuild the Oakland offense going forward gives both Fargas and Jordan a role in 2007. Fargas had questions about his abilities and his ruggedness, and some of those were answered this past season. He is worth rostering just in case he becomes the next starter for the Raiders.

Zack Crockett, RB, Oakland Raiders (Week 8)

Accomplishments - Crockett was a backup RB on a terrible team. He finished with 216 yards from scrimmage on 49 touches.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Crockett was a possible replacement for Lamont Jordan this season, but he never really did much and lost most of the carries to Fargas.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Crockett is entering his 13th season, and with Oakland in rebuilding mode, Crockett won't be a big part of the picture. In TD only leagues, he might vulture a TD or two but he won't be worth having or starting.

Ronald Curry, WR, Oakland Raiders (Week 12)

Accomplishments - Curry came back from not one, but two Achilles tears (on the same Achilles) to lead the Raiders with 62 catches and 727 yards. He became the trusted possession WR as the season went on.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Randy Moss and Jerry Porter are as good as gone, setting up Curry as the #1 WR on the roster.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Curry is almost assured of being the #1 returning WR on the roster, but the Raiders could add another starter through free agency or the draft. His prospects are best in PPR leagues.

Jerry Porter, WR, Oakland Raiders (Week 9)

Accomplishments - In 2006? One catch for 19 yards in Week 8. Yeah, that's solid right there. Porter was fighting injuries all season and barely made it on the field but for four games, and produced next to nothing.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - In Week 9, Porter still had the chance to come back and post decent numbers for what many would have labeled as a forgotten player for the first half of 2006. Obviously, that's not how it played out.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Porter could return in 2007 as a starter opposite of Randy Moss and put up good receiving numbers, but that would really take ideal conditions. It should be noted, however, that Porter would likely come quite cheap in a trade or even off the waiver wire, and he did manage to put up over 900 yards receiving in 2004 and 2005, including 14 combined touchdowns. If he can even approach those numbers, he would be worth attaining and stashing away on your bench for now.

Johnnie Morant, WR, Oakland Raiders (Week 17)

Accomplishments - Morant finished the last two games of the season as a starting WR, and had 7 receptions for 70 yards over the last three games.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - A new QB will mean a whole different offensive focus for 2007. Moss and Porter will probably be gone, meaning Curry and Morant will be the top two WRs.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Morant will probably be a starting WR for the Raiders next season. If their passing game improves at all, Morant will definitely benefit.

Randall Williams, TE, Oakland Raiders (Week 10)

Accomplishments - Williams had his best year in the NFL, finishing with 28 receptions for 283 yards. He did not reach the end zone.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Williams has great size and speed, and finished the year as the #1 TE for the Raiders ahead of Courtney Anderson. However, on a team that finished dead last in every passing category, that didn't amount to much.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - With the #1 pick in the draft, the Oakland Raiders will probably choose a QB of the future. Whoever they take is going to need a safety valve and Williams is a big, physical target who matches up well against smaller and slower LBs. They can't get much worse in passing, that's for sure.

Nate Washington, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers (Week 8)

Accomplishments - Washington went from undrafted division III free agent to one of the Steelers better deep threats, with 35 catches for 624 yards and 4 TDs He has earned a long-term role in the Steelers WR rotation, and was even a startable fantasy WR when Hines Ward was hurt.

Dynasty Watch Reasons, then and now - Santonio Holmes was slow to contribute, but he has stepped up into the clear #2 WR slot opposite Hines Ward, limiting Washington's long term opportunity.

Future prospects (2007 and beyond) - Washington is relegating to joining former starter Cedrick Wilson and Willie Reid in the supporting cast of speedy WRs., but he could be a spot starter if Ward or Holmes miss any games in the future.
